📆 Arrived at the shelter on Mar 29, 2026.

Onyx was surrendered by an adopter who had only recently adopted him from another shelter. The home had multiple dogs, and after a fight broke out, someone was bitten while trying to separate them. No one knows which dog was responsible, yet Onyx and Hazel were both brought to the shelter and quarantined, while the other dog reportedly remained in the home.

Now Onyx is on the URGENT list, and a 2nd plea has been issued. If no one steps forward, he could lose his life soon—for an incident that may not have involved him.

Everyone who has spent time with Onyx describes him as an absolute sweetheart. Volunteers say he is easy to handle, playful, affectionate, and loves people. He melts into a submissive, loving boy when you enter his kennel and even does a happy dance when it’s time to go outside. He’s easy to walk, calm around other dogs, and simply wants to be close to his humans.

In playgroup, DPF described him as Gentle & Dainty, Social, Playful, and a Rockstar.

Onyx deserves a chance. He shouldn’t lose his life over an incident no one can even attribute to him.

When you walk up to her kennel, she has no expression in her eyes. She’s absolutely devastated that she’s there. You can feel her thoughts.

Once she has a kennel break moment for potty break, she’s a completely different dog. She shines, wiggles, kisses, snorts. Shes most obsessed with snackies and chew toys. It’s all she wants.

We are looking for a SoCal ✨bully breed loving committed foster for 6 months✨ under a solid legit rescue.

Amber is 2yrs old , 60lbs ish short - but strong 💪 short stack.

Her shelter notes share that she can be with calm dogs only - she has some sass in her wiggle butt so her match would have to be assessed first with one of the trainers.

An Amber fan in her last post said she’s “A peach 🍑 who knows her boundaries and how to communicate them safely” 😭😭😭

Before Agoura shelter, Amber was at Lancaster shelter. She was dumped there after breeding but luckily Agoura shelter pulled her when they had an empty kennel and saved her life 🙏

🤍🖤 LOOK AT THIS HANDSOME SPOTTED BOY! MARSHALL is only 2 years old and 34 lbs — young, medium-sized and covered in the cutest little spots. 🥹

This sweet, friendly 2-year-old deserves to walk out the FRONT DOOR and finally find out what it feels like to belong to someone. 🤍🖤

And we know something important about him: MARSHALL IS PEOPLE-FRIENDLY. 💕 He was so friendly when Animal Control picked him up as a stray that they specifically made note of it.

Now this sweet boy is sitting ALL ALONE in a shelter kennel, with absolutely no idea why he’s there or how he’s supposed to get someone to notice him. 💔

🚨 MARSHALL has officially hit LONG-STAY status, which means his time is running out. He needs a FOSTER, ADOPTER OR RESCUE PLAN ASAP.

🚨 SUPER LONG STAY MOM — TALLULAH NEEDS OUT! Her babies are safe. Now their mom needs someone to save HER. 💔

TALLULAH arrived at Harris County Pets on 8/12 with a litter of puppies. For weeks, this 4-year-old mama’s entire world was protecting her babies. With them beside her, she was understandably nervous, watchful and protective.

But away from her puppies, volunteers saw a completely different girl. 💕

Now that her babies are weaned, TALLULAH is finally getting the chance to just be TALLULAH. She’s much calmer, can be leashed, happily accepts affection and takes treats gently. 🥹

And can we talk about those EYELASHES?! 😂 This girl has lashes some of us would pay good money for, framing the sweetest brown eyes.

💗 VIDEO NOTE: TALLULAH is a GIRL! Our volunteer accidentally calls her a boy a couple of times. 😂

🚨 TALLULAH HAS BEEN WAITING SINCE 8/12. She is an extremely long-stay dog, and dogs who have been at the shelter 15+ days can be at risk of euthanasia on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings with no warning.

Her puppies made it. Their mom deserves to make it out too.

Meet the shelter’s longest resident - Discord. He has grown up in the shelter system and needs out NOW. He is falling apart in the stressful kennel system — it’s loud, scary, smells like euthanasia — who could blame him? Every one else either leaves safely or in a garbage bag after 2 month, but Discord has just waited. The rest of pups at shelters have A#s that start with A125, that’s how long he has been there.

Now Discord is super urgent and needs help getting out of the shelter immediately. This boy has had quite a journey — he's a 10 month old neutered male weighing about 37+ pounds.

The first time he was at Kern shelter was back in March when he was about 4 months old. Shortly after arriving at the shelter he caught a doggie cold and he was lucky enough to find a foster who nursed him back to health. After he overcame his cold, he came back from foster to hopefully be adopted.

He ended up being adopted along with 2 other dogs, but, shortly, all 3 were surrendered to the shelter in Lake Isabella.

Eventually Discord had been adopted again over there, but, then was returned. This poor boy has been in the shelter system within the course of 6 months.

He's basically growing up in the kennels. He recently was transferred back over to our shelter at KCAS because we thought a rescue would be interested in him, but there never was one. Poor Discord is starting to go kennel crazy.

Can you blame him? Spending half your life in a kennel not being walked regularly is going to make any dog go a little crazy. He's a young boy who needs to release his energy outside. Discord is a friendly boy and he gets along with other dogs. A staff member was given extra time to seek placement for him and the clock has now run out.

He is the longest resident Kern County has currently got. This poor boy just needs someone who understands him. He's an energetic young boy who needs tough toys to play with.

This is his last chance to make it out. If he doesn't find a safe outcome, he will be euthanized. Please like and share Discord. His life depends on it. Discord is barely hanging on to his sanity

He will likely need someone with an active lifestyle, he is an energetic pup who will thrive as a walking, running, hiking, camping, or even mountain biking partner or even someone who wants to do advanced obedience and tire him out that way.

I will help arrange transport for adopters (these services are already rescue discounted and range from $200 to $750 out of state depending on distance with dogs going as far as east coast and even Canada)

Fostering in and out of state is possible as well, if within county you can foster directly through the shelter. If out of county you must DM me - fostering through rescue possible in west coast/mountain states through Colorado, and possibly east coast.

Make sure to put Discord (A1244161) in email subject line and explicitly state in calls and texts. Do not leave A1244161 out.

When you DM me volunteers will follow up with shelter staff to ensure his notes are updated and he is safe while his exit plan is figured out. We will also work on exit plan logistics together with volunteers or with rescue depending on if adopting or fostering.

Cisco, Bluey, and Boomer are three siblings who were abandoned, brought into the shelter, and are severely undersocialized. They will NOT be dogs you can simply take home and expect instant perfection. They need someone who understands rehabilitation, especially experienced rescues or adopters familiar with working breeds.
