Onyx was surrendered by an adopter who had only recently adopted him from another shelter. The home had multiple dogs, and after a fight broke out, someone was bitten while trying to separate them. No one knows which dog was responsible, yet Onyx and Hazel were both brought to the shelter and quarantined, while the other dog reportedly remained in the home.

Now Onyx is on the URGENT list, and a 2nd plea has been issued. If no one steps forward, he could lose his life soon—for an incident that may not have involved him.

Everyone who has spent time with Onyx describes him as an absolute sweetheart. Volunteers say he is easy to handle, playful, affectionate, and loves people. He melts into a submissive, loving boy when you enter his kennel and even does a happy dance when it’s time to go outside. He’s easy to walk, calm around other dogs, and simply wants to be close to his humans.

In playgroup, DPF described him as Gentle & Dainty, Social, Playful, and a Rockstar.

Onyx deserves a chance. He shouldn’t lose his life over an incident no one can even attribute to him.

🚨 SUPER LONG STAY MOM — TALLULAH NEEDS OUT! Her babies are safe. Now their mom needs someone to save HER. 💔

TALLULAH arrived at Harris County Pets on 8/12 with a litter of puppies. For weeks, this 4-year-old mama’s entire world was protecting her babies. With them beside her, she was understandably nervous, watchful and protective.

But away from her puppies, volunteers saw a completely different girl. 💕

Now that her babies are weaned, TALLULAH is finally getting the chance to just be TALLULAH. She’s much calmer, can be leashed, happily accepts affection and takes treats gently. 🥹

And can we talk about those EYELASHES?! 😂 This girl has lashes some of us would pay good money for, framing the sweetest brown eyes.

💗 VIDEO NOTE: TALLULAH is a GIRL! Our volunteer accidentally calls her a boy a couple of times. 😂

🚨 TALLULAH HAS BEEN WAITING SINCE 8/12. She is an extremely long-stay dog, and dogs who have been at the shelter 15+ days can be at risk of euthanasia on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings with no warning.

Her puppies made it. Their mom deserves to make it out too.

When you walk up to her kennel, she has no expression in her eyes. She’s absolutely devastated that she’s there. You can feel her thoughts.

Once she has a kennel break moment for potty break, she’s a completely different dog. She shines, wiggles, kisses, snorts. Shes most obsessed with snackies and chew toys. It’s all she wants.

We are looking for a SoCal ✨bully breed loving committed foster for 6 months✨ under a solid legit rescue.

Amber is 2yrs old , 60lbs ish short - but strong 💪 short stack.

Her shelter notes share that she can be with calm dogs only - she has some sass in her wiggle butt so her match would have to be assessed first with one of the trainers.

⚠️ THIS PATTERN MUST BE INVESTIGATED. There appears to be a deeply troubling pattern at this shelter involving large-breed dogs being given as little as 1–8 days to find rescue or adoption before facing euthanasia. That is not a genuine chance at life.

⚠️ There are also serious concerns that some dogs may be quickly labeled “aggressive” or “sick,” potentially accelerating their placement on the euthanasia list before they have a fair opportunity to be saved.

⋆✨️⋆ FRIENDLY - GOOD WITH DOGS. Maxamus came into the shelter with a female dog named Xena. Xena was adopted today, but Maxamus is still here — and now his time is running out.

Maxamus is presumed deaf. Shelter staff noted that he does not respond to sound, head turns, or ear movement, although a BAER test would be needed to fully confirm hearing loss. He is also being treated for an upper respiratory infection after developing sneezing and green nasal discharge. Despite this, he is still eating and drinking normally, has successfully been kenneled with another male dog, and has been friendly with staff.

URGENT — 7 HEALTHY PUPPIES NEED RESCUE OR FOSTER PLACEMENT — LITTLE ELM/NORTH TEXAS 🚨

7 puppies | Born March 18, 2026 | Little Elm, TX

I am desperately asking for help finding reputable rescue placement or foster homes for these seven puppies.

All seven are currently healthy, active, and being cared for. I am trying to find them help before my situation becomes an emergency.

I have already attempted to get them into rescue. A rescue previously took the puppies and kept them for approximately three days, then returned them to me. I was told they would be coming back to pick them up, but they never did. I was left responsible for all seven again.

Since then, I have continued caring for them while desperately trying to find another solution.

Unfortunately, my personal circumstances have now become overwhelming. I am at serious risk of losing my home, I currently cannot work, and I cannot attend school because of the amount of care and responsibility I am trying to manage. Financially, physically, and emotionally, I have reached the point where I cannot continue doing this alone.

I am NOT asking because I don't love these puppies. I am asking because I DO love them and I am trying to find a responsible solution while they are still healthy and able to transition into rescue or foster care.

I desperately want to avoid reaching the point where the only option is a municipal shelter.

I NEED:

🐾 A rescue willing to take some or all of them

🏠 Foster homes willing to work with a rescue

🚗 Transport assistance if needed

📣 Rescue networking

❤️ Experienced foster families who can take even ONE puppy

I do NOT need one organization to take all seven.

If one person can foster one puppy, another person can foster two, and a rescue can take the remaining puppies, that could solve this situation.

I can provide photographs, videos, individual puppy information, temperament information, weights, and veterinary/deworming information that I have available.

I am willing to transport within a reasonable distance and cooperate with legitimate rescue/foster intake requirements.

Please do not offer to take a puppy if you are not genuinely prepared to care for one or are not working with a legitimate rescue. I am trying to make sure these puppies are placed safely and responsibly.

9/3/2026: 7 GSD. Stated to be locked in abandoned house and crying in distress. Unsure if the dogs have food/water. No electricity. Stated homeless ppl were leaving in the house but the owners haven’t been seen.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

9/9/2026: Lobo was at the front of the kennel presenting a loose body, low swaying tail and a neutral face. Allowed me to leash and followed me out of the kennel holding a semi-loose leash, low swaying tail and neutral body. Walked to and from the runs no issues.

9/7/2026: At front of kennel, neutral body, slow sweeping tail. Leashed easily walked on loose leash to and from runs. When stepping into runs to take picture, Lobo becomes very mouth jumping up had to turn and tell him no.

9/4/2026: Lobo greeted me at the front of the kennel, erect ears, neutral face and body. Opening the kennel he approaches me and allows me to leash, walked out of the kennel on a loose leash, low swaying tail and loose body. Walked to and from the runs no issues.

Prescribed Rimadyl 125mg SID for 14 days and gabapentin 300mg BID for 14 days. If no one claims and behavior is good, dog will need radiographs, VD and lateral hips/knees.

9/4/2026: Vaccinated (Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, given pyrantel and Advantage Multi. HW Negative.

SWEETIE came into the shelter looking like she had recently weaned a litter of puppies. 💔 She was painfully thin — practically skin and bones — but after a few weeks of regular meals, she hardly looks like the same dog.

Now that she’s finally starting to look healthy again, she’s at risk of losing her life. SWEETIE can be euthanized as soon as Wednesday morning, 9/9. 😭

💜 Volunteer Notes:

Sometimes I don’t know what’s worse being on the euthanasia list a few weeks after arriving at the shelter or staying there for over 30 days. This sweetheart has been there over 30 days and she has nothing but good staff notes. She came in with her puppies and she ended up being alone after her puppies were adopted. She ended up at the shelter after the police served an eviction notice to her owner. This girl has not had an easy life. I really don’t think that she’s seven years old. I think that she’s probably a little younger. When I met her, she was nothing but this sweet girl that her staff note say. She is also cute as a button. She walks so loosely on the leash no pulling it all. Takes treats gently. Doesn’t jump all over you. She did great with her temperament test. I tried playing ball with her, but I don’t think she really knows how to. That obviously can be learned. I know there were a few other volunteers that also fell in love with this girl, and I really would love for her to make it out. It would be a shame for her to be at the shelter for over 30 days only to be euthanized. Let’s get this sweet girl out out of the shelter and into a wonderful home.!

🐾 Behavior Notes:

💔 Lisa Dede came into BARC with her puppies, including Pippy and Pumpkin, who are NOT currently on the euthanasia list. Now their mama needs someone to save HER.

Lisa Dede’s is a very sweet, calm and gentle mama. She greets people with a wiggly body and softly wagging tail, walks beautifully on a loose leash, enjoys treats and will lean into you for pets.

She relaxes quietly on her cot, keeps her kennel clean overnight and is calm and friendly with staff. She has also paid little attention to other dogs while passing their kennels and runs.

One note describes her greeting staff with “happy feet” and a “happy tail.” This sweet girl has been waiting at BARC for more than a month for someone to save her.

🙏 Lisa Dede arrived with her babies and has already watched them grow old enough to be separated from her. Pippy and Pumpkin are not currently on the euthanasia list—but their mama needs help now.

Please foster, adopt, rescue, pledge and share her before it’s too late.

🔹 Intake:

7/31/2026: Per officer they are doing an eviction at this time. There are 6 dogs on the property the officer needs help with. Deputy will be on standby. Per officer the dogs are non aggressive.

At intake, Lisa Dede came in with her 5 puppies, estimated to be 9 weeks old.

📝 Shelter Notes:

9/1/2026: Approaching the kennel, Lisa Dede was standing in front of the kennel with a neutral body, soft eyes, ears up, and wagging tail. She did a good job of keeping her kennel clean overnight. Lisa Dede was walked on a loose leash and neutral to and from the outside runs. She was calm and friendly towards me and allowed me to pet her while giving her some treats. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed by their runs and kennels. Once back in her kennel, she started to whine quietly in front of her kennel for a short time before laying down on her cot.

8/30/2026: Dog will greet me in front of the kennel and when I leash her she walked loose leash to the run and back to her kennel.

8/26/2026: Greeted me by her kennel door with a relaxed body, low slow wagging tail and soft mouth. Walked on a loose leash heading in and out.

8/25/2026: Dog was in front of the kennel with a wagging tail and when I leashed her she walked loose leash with a tail wagging relaxed body and when I brought her back she walked in and sat down in front of the kennel door.

8/23/2026: Dog greeted me with wagging tail, softly opened mouth and once I leashed her, her tail was wagging slowly and she walked loose leash to the run and back.

8/20/2026: Dog greeted me in front of the kennel with a wiggly body and loose leash walked to the run and back.

8/17/2026: Lisa Dede greeted me with a soft face, happy feet, happy tail, softly whined, ears back, eyes dilated and walked loosely. Passing kennel, she was resting quietly on her bed.

8/10/2026: Lisa greets me at the kennel door with a gently wagging tail and calm demeanor. She lets me leash her and walks loosely to and from the potty yard. Inside her kennel she can be seen relaxing on her cot quietly.

8/2/2026: She greeted me with a wiggly body and a soft wagging tail. She walks on a loose leash to and from the runs. She’s very sweet, enjoys treats and will lean into pets when they’re offered.

8/1/2026: She greeted me at the front of the kennel with a neutral body and walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

🚑 Medical Notes:

7/31/2026: Weighed 50.0 lbs. Very mild flea dermatitis near base of tail. Advantage Multi applied. HW Negative. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, and given flea/heartworm prevention.

8/14/2026: Weighed 50.0 lbs. Normal exam. DA2PP-V booster given.

8/19/2026: Weighed 50.0 lbs. Green nasal discharge. Diagnosed with CIRDC. Moved to treatment room and prescribed Doxycycline 200mg once daily for 10 days.

8/25/2026: Weighed 50.0 lbs. Vomited bile in the morning and was given Cerenia.

8/30/2026: Weighed 50.0 lbs. No URI symptoms noted. CIRDC resolved. Move adopt.

9/1/2026: Weighed 50.0 lbs. Normal exam. DA2PP-V booster given.

Summary:

Lisa Dede is heartworm NEGATIVE. At intake she had very mild flea dermatitis near the base of her tail and was treated with Advantage Multi.

She later developed URI/CIRD with green nasal discharge and was treated with Doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 10 days. On 8/25 she vomited bile and received Cerenia. By 8/30, no URI symptoms were present and her CIRD was considered RESOLVED.

She has received DA2PP, Bordetella, Rabies, deworming/Pyrantel and preventatives.
