Is this safe for my cat?

My cat has been pretty constipated for a three days. The vet said to keep an eye on her but so far she is energetic, eating, and playing. Just not pooping much. Is this broth (meant for humans) safe to give to my cat to help with her constipation? I see equivalent products with the same ingredients in pet stores, but given my situation, I’m hoping to find more affordable alternatives, as long as it’s safe for my cat.

Listed ingredients:
Chicken bone broth & Apple cider vinegar

Thank you 🙏

2nd Opinion: Cat pawing at snout, vet was unsure if bone cancer or dental issue

Took our 15 year old orange tabby to the vet after noticing him pawing at his face and seeming to be in some pain. Cat's eating has diminished over the past week and he's lost a little weight. (1 year ago he weighed 16lbs, today 13lbs)
Vet heard an arythmia and insists he first should have an echocardiogram to see if the cat's heart would be strong enough for the next procedure: general anethesia to take dental x-rays and biopsy.
The vet seemed unable to get a very good look at what was going on in the mouth, maybe due to inexperience with manipulating the cats jaw open. Vet did have me take photos while he got the cats mouth somewhat open.
Vet thought there was redness in this area, and said this is often bone cancer and is inoperable due to being in the rear area of the jaw. Otherwise, maybe a dental issue. I did ask if there was a tooth missing, which vet said there indeed was a missing tooth.
Vet gave the cat antibiotic injection and gave us topical pain medication to administer.
Vet scheduled the echocardiogram, but we are not confident that this is the right road to go down at this point.

Here is a photo of the jaw, from today's vet visit:

Ingrown claws??

I’ve had my Maine coons for 6 years, but recently they’ve started having problems with ingrown claws. I discovered this evening that one of my babies has one all the way into his toe beans and he’s obviously in pain. We are going to the vet first thing in the morning of course.
Anyone else have this problem? Wondering why it’s started to happen more often recently..

Cat exhibiting heat-like symptoms but tested negative for hormones

Hello all, I am an adult in the US with vet access, my cat is 1 month 1 month and i’ve had her since 6 months old. She was spayed when we adopted her and she has pet insurance.

At the end of June, she was in the counter and was trying to drink water (she loves faucet) when I accidentally splashed her and she jumped off. About an hour later, I noticed she was not sitting normally, keeping her legs up and almost kicking or stomping the back legs, while making a weird noise. She stopped playing like she normally did and seemed less interested in food or snacks, but still ate. She was using the litterbox normal. The next day, I noticed she had vaginal discharge so I took her to the emergency vet. They did a urine test and said there was minimal bacteria but gave antibiotics and a pain med in case it was muscular from jumping down (although she jumps all the time without issue). they all said she was lactjng like she was in heat. She was flopping over and rubbing her face on things. It ended after about 7-8 days. I was able to take her to the normal vet and they did x rays of her back side because she growled when they palpated her back and leg, all came back negative for bone issues. She was given mor antibiotics to see if it was uti and additional pain meds.

Since then, this cycle has happened 4 times:

  1. end of june to beginning of july 7ish days; (9 days normal

  2. mid july to mid/late july 6ish days (9ish days normal)

  3. late july to early august 7ish days (12 days normal)

  4. back to start over the weekend and ongoing.

Every time she has seemed to be a little bit more normal. The end of the last time she started a longer antibiotic course. Between the 2nd and 3rd time, she did an ovarian remnant test, but she was not having symptoms then. It was negative. The insurance has covered most of this. I just want her to feel better. She continues to flop a decent amount, rubs her face on everything, and consistently does the feet thing in a belly down squat. She makes whimper sounding noises a good amount especially at night.

She is normally so playful but during these times, it’s almost like she goes into a trance. I usually can pick her up and hold her like a baby with a rounded back (her butt and back on my arm) but during these times, she arches her back and almost spasms fighting rounding her back. She crawls on my beg and stands with her arms on the headboard and kicks her legs, she is always doing that stomp kick thing. She seems so uncomfy….

I don’t know what to do for her anymore, I am at such a loss. I work and feel like the worst person leaving her in this condition but she always is normal in the interim periods.

We took in a stray cat that's in really bad shape

I think her face is covered in ringworm and we're taking her to the vet on Tuesday, but for now she's completely isolated from our other cats. It's been over 100°s for the past week, she drank the water we gave her like there was no tomorrow. How can we help her until the vet appointment and what are some measures we can take to prevent other cats from catching ringworm?

Update: we took her to the vet and she's better than before but still in bad condition. 93°F temperature, some kind of respiratory infection that's effecting her eyes, and weighing 4 pounds. We're getting medication and spending money on her despite that the fact that the vet offered to put her down, giving her an IV and some dewormer. He estimates her to be around 3 years old. Still, she's in high spirits. Grooming herself, drinking, eating, using the litter box, and doesn't seem to be in any pain. The respiratory probiotics we've been giving her are helping her chest clear up. She's seems happy and at peace with feeling love and care. We've brought cats back from worse than this, so I have faith. Even if she dies, I hope we can provide a proper death for this mistreated angel.

Flea help? Moo, est 2009

Hello, I discovered today that my cat has a decent fight going on with what looks like fleas.
I was thinking I could give her a bath with dawn dish soap, rinse and get something for fleas.
My cat is older and very precious. I can follow up with a vet appointment but I’d want to do everything I can for her tonight.
First pic is their black droppings mixed with water
Please let me know what has worked for anyone who’s been through this before

Kitten’s new teeth hitting opposite gum.

Hello,

I have two 7 months kittens. We have been finding their baby teeth around so we started trying to brush their teeth. But we noticed that for both of them, their new teeth seem to be rubbing against the opposite gums. it looks so painful. We are trying to get a vet visit but it is just a check up appointment end of this week. Should we go in to another vet earlier or can we wait?

Both an eating dry/wet food well and playing well and pooping/peeing well. But I don’t want to let this escalate to an infection/painful situation where the stop eating.

I googled and it seems that general anesthesia with grinding down the tooth will be required but we are worried of non-recognition aggression between the two of them again :(

What is this?

I feel like a ball under his fur. He doesn't act in pain when I touch it. Looking at pictures, on 2th August was not there, or if it was, it was not this big. I'm currently on holiday with him on an Island, and the first vet is very far. I'm panicking, please help? He's 1.5 years old

Cat has either IBD or lymphoma, unsure how to proceed.

My wife and I noticed that our 7.5 year old cat was vomiting up her food yesterday. This was pretty unusual, since she only has hairballs occasionally. After she didn’t hold down her dinner, I took her to the ER.

They said she was dehydrated and kept her overnight and did an ultrasound this morning. She either has IBD or lymphoma.

This is so sudden, because she hasn’t had any of
the other symptoms (diarrhea, weight or appetite loss) and she only started throwing up yesterday.

We don’t have the money for a biopsy, but feel bad about risking it with just steroidal treatment. We have care credit, but the cost of all this is already so high I don’t think it would cover the biopsy. I’d just like some insight from other people or professionals as to what my options are.

We’re going to pick her up in a few hours and I want to be as informed as possible before we tell the vet our decision

What’s under my cats nose?

my cat is 11. lately she has been having this nasal discharge. it looks kind of like scabs. it’s dark brown, almost purplish. it peels off like dry skin, not like a liquid. the vet prescribed chlorhexidine wipes which worked, but once I stopped this came back. do I just continue with the wipes for the rest of her life? seems like it’s treating the symptom instead of the cause

My 10year old cats thumb nails is very thick, and the wick is very long compared to the other nails

I’m not sure if I need to be worried. I know it’s common with older cats that their nails can become thicker, but his thumbnail wick looks extremely long and I trim his nails about every six weeks. I’m really scared to cut it shorter because it looks like the wick is very long. Should I do a micro trim of his thumbnails every week to train the wick back? It also looks like the thumbnail is not shedding as as much as as the other nails, which I understand is common. I can’t tell if I’m looking at layers of nails that need to be shed off, or if it’s his wick that’s getting really long. His nail looks long and I trimmed it as much as possible before I got to the point where it looks like I was lining up with the wick.

Maine Coon’s jaw has been “catching” for 3 MONTHS after a dental, has anyone seen this before?

He got a dental done in May and he is 2 years old. Ever since his dental, his jaw seems to get like this anytime he yawns or opens his mouth big. I can't help, but feel the vet messed up his mouth and really bummed I took him in.

As a kitten, he did have his bottom fangs over his top fangs, but now his teeth have normal positioning. He is eating normally still and has never had this issue until the dental cleaning.

When I asked the vet about it, they said I should go to a dental specialist, which I literally just had 3 of my pets need major medical treatment with in the last 2 months so financially it's not in my budget, unless it was a emergency, which my vet said this isn't.

I'd love some direction on what we think happened and what this might be, please. It stresses me out to see him not look comfortable with that.

So I took her to vet this morning again and was told that I shouldn’t worry and keep using the medications till thursday. She is finr she is eating, drinking and playing around. But she cannot open her eyes fully. I’m a bit worried that if she is in pain or itching. Anyone has any idea or experience similar to this? I’m a bit worried and looking for an advice!

Tooth infection help

Hi, I need recommendations for this situation. My cat underwent a tooth extraction on Wednesday the 12th (60h ago). Today I noticed that the area looks bad, she's a difficult cat and doesn't like getting handled, so these pictures are the best I could take.

The problem is, the clinic where she got surgery is closed on weekends, and we don't know if she got any antibiotics injected during the operation. After discharge I was only prescribed Loxicom (Meloxicam) to give at home, so I suspect she already has a long-lasting antibiotic, but I can't be sure.

I called two emergency vets because I wanted to take her in, but they told me they can't prescribe another antibiotic because we don't know which one she already has (it's probably Convenia, which is a cephalosporin, but it could be another one, and antibiotics can interact negatively with each other, which could harm her kidneys and liver).

I'm super worried because I know tooth infections can be dangerous, and I think it has gotten very bad in 2 days.

Any recommendations on what to do? I feel my hands are tied, and I don't know if we can wait two more days. In addition, in my country, there's a law that regulates antibiotic use and veterinarians can only prescribe something that is not broad-spectrum with an antibiogram and culture.

Thank you.

TLDR: infection 60h after tooth extraction, clinic is closed, emergency vets can't prescribe antibiotics without knowing if she got any already and which one

Additional info: she's eating and is not lethargic. She also purrs and leans onto me when I pet her. From outside the lip isn't swollen.

Should i take my cat to the vet?

Edit: i called the vet, a check up is 8000HUF, about €22 so as soon as i borrow the cat carrier and successfully get her in there she's going to the vet!

So the stray cat Ive been feeding for almost a year and call my cat wondered 4km away bc i wasnt here for 2 weeks and my bf's mom gave her dry food and she's a spoiled wet food and a little piece of sandwich meat as dessert kinda cat lol And she came back a little skinnier and a weird scar (spot? Sticky thing? Tbh i cant tell) on her face, but thats not the main reason.

Ive been wanting to take her for months just to get the ticks removed, check for fleas and worms and bc she looks weird; shes cross-eyed, salivating a LOT, tounge always sticking out a bit. She also moves more like liquid than regular cats, she doesnt lay down, she just kinda.. falls into a laying position. She's also purring no matter what and making biscuits with all 4 legs, sometimes even while walking! Its also really hard to scare her away, I try making sudden movements and noises and blowing on her face when shes somewhere she isnt supposed to be and she just looks at me with those 4 dimensional eyes like an ipad kid.

My bf got a full time job in june and we finnaly have enough money for stuff like this but idk if a vet visit is worth it or not, itd definitely help me feel better to know whats up with her eyes but id just like other ppl's opinions. I added the pics to show her eyes, 3rd picture is her and the other, normal looking cat I feed.

Cat constipation?

My cat has been struggling with constipation since about march. Today he had to go in for an emergency visit because I noticed him squatting and straining and not doing anything. The vet gave him an enema and cleared him out (this has been his 4/5th total this year). Per the vet he is currently getting 2ml of lactulose day and night and they recommended today to add 1/4 tsp of MiraLAX midday. I keep multiple water fountains through my house and scoop his litter boxes 2 times a day (I have 2 cats and 3 litter boxes). He also gets 1 50mg gabapentin in the morning and 75mg at night to manage his arthritis pain. I’m doing everything the vet says but it feels like this keeps happening and I don’t know what to do to keep him going normally anymore. I add water to his food, promote water intake, keep his areas clean, and give him wet food twice a day. Does anyone else have this issue with their cat and how do you help manage it so you don’t have to make emergency vet visits often?

Cataract?

4yr old female, She has cataracts on one eye already, is this the start of another one appearing? She doesn’t seem to be to be bothered by it or squinting at all. Could it just be goop that the vets can remove?
