My 10year old cats thumb nails is very thick, and the wick is very long compared to the other nails
I’m not sure if I need to be worried. I know it’s common with older cats that their nails can become thicker, but his thumbnail wick looks extremely long and I trim his nails about every six weeks. I’m really scared to cut it shorter because it looks like the wick is very long. Should I do a micro trim of his thumbnails every week to train the wick back? It also looks like the thumbnail is not shedding as as much as as the other nails, which I understand is common. I can’t tell if I’m looking at layers of nails that need to be shed off, or if it’s his wick that’s getting really long. His nail looks long and I trimmed it as much as possible before I got to the point where it looks like I was lining up with the wick.
