Cat has either IBD or lymphoma, unsure how to proceed.

My wife and I noticed that our 7.5 year old cat was vomiting up her food yesterday. This was pretty unusual, since she only has hairballs occasionally. After she didn’t hold down her dinner, I took her to the ER.

They said she was dehydrated and kept her overnight and did an ultrasound this morning. She either has IBD or lymphoma.

This is so sudden, because she hasn’t had any of
the other symptoms (diarrhea, weight or appetite loss) and she only started throwing up yesterday.

We don’t have the money for a biopsy, but feel bad about risking it with just steroidal treatment. We have care credit, but the cost of all this is already so high I don’t think it would cover the biopsy. I’d just like some insight from other people or professionals as to what my options are.

We’re going to pick her up in a few hours and I want to be as informed as possible before we tell the vet our decision
