Kitten’s new teeth hitting opposite gum.

Hello,

I have two 7 months kittens. We have been finding their baby teeth around so we started trying to brush their teeth. But we noticed that for both of them, their new teeth seem to be rubbing against the opposite gums. it looks so painful. We are trying to get a vet visit but it is just a check up appointment end of this week. Should we go in to another vet earlier or can we wait?

Both an eating dry/wet food well and playing well and pooping/peeing well. But I don’t want to let this escalate to an infection/painful situation where the stop eating.

I googled and it seems that general anesthesia with grinding down the tooth will be required but we are worried of non-recognition aggression between the two of them again :(

3Kitten Problem

We a couple (mid 30s) and we do not work from home. we also live in an apartment on the 13th floor. The apartment has ample space but not a lot of partitions and we have 3 kittens:

- B 5months old brown boy

- T 5months old pointed color girl

- SB 10 months old selkirk rex girl

All neutered/spayed.

B & T used to be inseparable but after B’s neutering T has been super aggressive to B. i understand non-recognition aggression but T aggressiveness seems not to be fear based but more territorial.

B & T love SB (she might not like them as much). The combination of T and SB is fine as SB is able to take charge and T is okay with it. Also SB likes playing with toys more than other cats. While Tifa just wants to play.

SB and B are not so great as B keeps biting her neck and doesn’t let go when she meows. There are some flying fur from SB too. B locks in on SB like she is a prey and doesn’t stop.

So the current situation is that all 3 are separated and T is now confined to the play pen when we go to work as the living room is not a good place for him to roam unsupervised. We get a cat sitter to come in the afternoon to play with all 3 of them.

We have been doing introduction and they eat behind closed doors but when we do the barrier eating T just goes up to B and hisses and tries to whacks him through the barrier. Also i am using feliway alrdy.

I am just trying to understand what i can do for both the B rough play and T’s aggression to B. For T aggression to B should I send them to groom tgt?

Any advice will be helpful here too.

Sibling Aggression post neutering

Hi all,

We a couple (mid 30s) and we do not work from home. we also live in an apartment on the 13th floor. The apartment has ample space but not a lot of partitions and we have 3 kittens:

- B (4.5 months old brown boy) who was neutered 2 weeks ago

- T (4.5 months old pointed color girl) planning to be spay this month

- SB (9 months old selkirk rex girl - spayed)

B & T used to be inseparable but after B’s neutering T has been super aggressive to B. i understand non-recognition aggression but T aggressiveness seems not to be fear based but more territorial.

B & T love SB (she might not like them as much) but when they play with her, she gets abit overwhelmed and i presumed stressed and starts open mouth panting all the time.

So the current situation is that all 3 are separated and B is now confined to the play pen when we go to work as the living room is not a good place for him to roam unsupervised. We get a cat sitter to come in the afternoon to play with all 3 of them.

We have been doing introduction and they eat behind closed doors but when we do the barrier eating T just goes up to B and hisses and tries to whacks him through the barrier. Also i am using feliway alrdy.

I am just trying to understand if spaying T will help in the aggression to B as they used to be so close last time and it is breaking my heart that they aren’t anymore :(

Any advice will be helpful here too.

Having trouble with Non-recognition aggression.

Hi all, I have been feeling very stressed out by my situation so here is the background and hoping that someone can provide some advice.

We currently have 3 kittens, B (Male - 4.5 months), T (Female - 4.5 months same litter as B), SB (Female - 9 months).

Two weeks before we successfully did introduction of SB to B and T. They both still love her now but she doesn’t like them too much and open mouth pants around them either through play or if she is stressed out.

However in the recent week, B was sent to be neutered as he had the optimal weight and when he got back T just hates him… it was very different then with SB (their introduction took 5 days). She hisses at him but still eats the treats in front of him. I understand we might have to do introductions again but we are also going send T to be spayed too as she has just reached the optimal weight. We decide to do it earlier than usual as they were a male and female kept in the same room.

Now this issue is that we do not have space to house 3 separate cats. So B is currently in the play pen most of the day when we work (we hired a cat sitter to visit in the afternoon) and evening (when we sleep as SB sleeps with us-before we sleep we let him free roam the house)

Should we do the reintroduction after T spaying? which will likely be in 2 weeks to a month times as she will also need to be isolated then so we will swap B and T space.

I am feeling so guilty that i can’t provide the kittens the space they need if they don’t get along and am thinking of giving up one of them but it is so hard since i had the siblings since they were 5 days old…
