9/28/2026: Grandson got arrested, left dogs in her yard. 4 Bulldogs, 1 mom and 3 puppies. Senior citizen can’t take care of them, having allergic reactions to dogs

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

9/29/2026: Approaching kennel, dog is lo growling with tense face and curling lip as I attempt to leash. Once she was, she ca,me out and scurried out with low hanging tail and worried facial expression. Once retrieving from run, dog held a much loose body and swaying tail.

9/30/2026: Dog was at the front of the kennel wagging tail, soft face and loose body. As I leashed she walked out of the kennel and followed me out to the runs holding a semi-loose leash, wagging tail and soft face. Walked to and from the runs no issues

10/2/2026: Zinnia walks on a semi-tight leash and shows no interest in treats. While in the kennel, Zinnia will sometimes growl and lunge at the front of the kennel when walking past kennel with and/or without a dog.

10/4/2026: Zinnia was standing in front of the kennel gate with a wiggling body, ears up, fast wagging tail, and dilated eyes. She was walked on a semi-loose leash and friendly to and from the outside runs. Once back in her kennel, when she saw a customer peaking over her sheet she would vocalize towards them until they left her sight. Later in the afternoon, she did the same thing to me but once I opened the kennel and babytalk to her she was presented with a wiggling body and fast wagging tail.

🥺 Imagine being scared and alone when a stranger suddenly loops something around your neck, puts you in a truck and takes you to a loud, unfamiliar place. You don’t understand what’s happening or whether anyone around you is safe.

That’s LOLLY.

💕 She is scared — but underneath that fear is a girl who WANTS affection. Give her a little patience and you can actually watch her walls come down. She approaches. She accepts pets. Her eyes soften. And that little tucked tail eventually starts to WAG. 🥹

She isn’t asking for much. She just needs someone willing to give her a chance to feel safe.

🦴 And this girl is SMART! LOLLY is treat motivated and learned SIT in about THREE tries. She has so much potential with someone patient who can help build her confidence.

💛 She’s also been dealing with some skin irritation, but she received medication and is already feeling better. Now she needs something medicine can’t provide: a safe place where she can finally exhale.

I was able to walk in and leash but he just sat there not wanting to walk out, I baby talked and offered treats which he took and only walked to the front of the kennel but not wanting to walk out of the kennel. I had to carry to the next kennel

10/3/2026: dog at the back of the kennel trembling,lip licking. As i leash him he slowly came foward then froze. I tied him against the wall as I clean his kennel. Once i finished, he army crawled back into his kennel.

10/4/2026: 10/04/26 10:48 Able to get him to wag tail with baby talk, but completely shut down and wouldn’t walk on leash. Picked him up, no muzzle needed, and carried out to run and he pottied once set down. Army crawled a bit to me when I came back but wouldn’t walk far, so carried him back inside and into kennel.

This poor baby was found roaming at a gas station with an injury to his leg. When I took him out, he was so gentle and sweet. Such a good boy. He’s a little shy, but he listened very well and took treats gently. He actually took treats and sometimes laid them on the ground instead of eating them. His leg didn’t seem to bother him at all. Even at one point he jumped up on the bench.

I loved spending time with him because he’s like an old soul that you just want to sit with all day and spend time with. He’s obviously had a hard life and he’s probably lived outside most of his life with nobody loving him.

I just can’t imagine him not making it out tomorrow after having such a terrible life and being in a shelter for less than a week. To be euthanized because of an injury that he’s obviously had and lived with is devastating.

I was not able to do a temperament test; however, he did see other dogs and did not react at all. If a rescue is truly interested in him, I have no problem going to the shelter and obtaining a temperament test on him. He’s a good boy and I hope he can find that forever home that he deserves. 💜

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

When I tell you that this is one of the happiest, most wiggly butt little pitties I have met that is no lie! She was so happy to come out of her kennel when I met her I was able to leash her pretty easily. She walked well on the leash although had a little bit of jumping initially, but I think it’s cause she was excited to be out.

The sad part is she has some kind of injury to her leg and this is why she has landed on the euthanasia list. I did notice she is bearing weight on it and she’s jumping up and down using that leg. Despite the injury she doesn’t appear to be in any pain. Her tail literally never stops wagging. You can see it in the videos that I did of her.

I instantly fell in love with her as well as another volunteer. She has a gorgeous gray coat and such a sweet face. She did wonderfully with other dogs. She seemed to just want to play. She met two other female dogs.

I hope and pray this sweet girl makes it out of the shelter and she doesn’t pay with her life due to a leg injury.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

This handsome boy is Canelo and he’s such a gem. He’s about 9 months old but you’d never guess it from how well behaved he is. When I walked up to his kennel, he was curled up quietly on a towel on the floor. He didn’t even get up when he saw me, he didn’t think I was going to take him out 😭 when I went in his kennel he sat nicely for my photos and gently took my treats. He was easy to leash, walked closely, and was happy to head outside with me. He’s incredibly photogenic, which I’m sure you can see from that big smiling face in every picture. When I pet him, he leaned his whole body into me and completely relaxed. He put so much of his weight in my lap that he almost knocked me over (he’s so silly). Canelo is gentle, affectionate, and has such a happy, easygoing demeanor. He did great meeting two other pups - clearly wants to play, but he has not one bad bone in his body. Someone is going to be very lucky to have him.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
This little girl is definitely a sweet, loving girl. She’s so tiny too. I adore her ears. She was pretty anxious to get out of her kennel today. I was able to leash her and we went for a walk and then we went into the run. She 100% enjoyed treats and actually went back into my bag to try to grab the rest of them. She knew that I had them around my waist in a little fanny pack and she kept trying to get into that as well. I can’t blame her. She’s a tiny little thing. She could stand to put on a little bit of weight. I think that she was just neglected by her previous owner. She has a mark around the front of her neck that looks like maybe her collar was a little too tight or embedded into her skin at one point. She came in with another dog that has the exact same wound except it’s a little worse than hers. I think it’s a tragedy that somebody would treat such a sweet, innocent little dog like this in that way. She wants nothing but love and you can see that right off the bat. She did great around other dogs. She does pull on the leash a little bit when we’re walking towards the dogs, but I think it’s because she wants to play and be around other dogs. Hopefully she can find her forever home along with the other dogs that she came in with.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

When I first read Bingo’s intake note my heart broke. At just 8 months old, she was abandoned by her “owners” after they dropped her off at Petsmart for a grooming appointment… and simply never came back for her. I can’t imagine how confused this baby must have been, waiting for people who were never going to return. Even with all of that, Bingo is still in such good spirits. I only got to meet her briefly, but she made an impression right away. She’s sweet, wiggly, and loves being the center of attention. She sat pretty for my photos, tried to jump into my lap to get more treats, and looked up at me with those big ole puppy eyes. I’ll be devastated if she doesn’t make it out tomorrow. She is just a baby who needs someone who will love her unconditionally. And I hope her former “owners” see this and never own a dog again. Bingo, and ever other dog abandoned, deserves better

Presented an overly aroused body with pacing, panting, dilated eyes, and vocalizing in kennel. Once leashed she walked on a tight forward leash, occasionally picking treats but maintaining tension. Outside she was constantly vocal and did not settle until returning inside.

9/12/2026:

Takes treats, loose body, walks on a loose leash to the runs and back.

9/17/2026:

Greeted with a tense, overly aroused body, high‑pitch barking, fast wagging tail, and jumping at the kennel door. Easily leashed; walked with a tight forward leash. Vocal outside and semi‑tense returning to kennel. Forward barking when other dogs passed.

9/21/2026:

Placed in outdoor run as a move‑adopt. Greeted at kennel door with a very wiggly body, fast wagging tail, and loose smile. Walked on a tight forward leash, ignored treats. Near kennel began high‑pitch vocalizing.

9/22/2026 (AM):

Very aroused during cleaning/feeding—wiggly body, dilated eyes, panting, pacing, jumping on kennel door. Walked on a very tight forward leash, pulling so hard her front paws lifted off the ground.

9/22/2026 (Midday):

Passing kennel, Bingo had ripped up another toy. Given extra enrichment. Later pawed the door, wagged tail, dilated eyes, sniffed toward handler, lip‑licked. Easily leashed; walked semi‑loosely with harness and treat guidance.

9/22/2026 (PM):

Greeted with soft face, vocalizing, dilated eyes, wagging tail, wiggly body, ears back, pawing door. Walked forward semi‑loosely, sometimes ignoring treats. Had destroyed her plush/tuber toy.

9/23/2026:

Walked on a semi‑tight leash but redirectable with treats. Jumps up while walking but easily redirected. Sometimes vocal in kennel.

9/25/2026 (AM):

Walked with a very forward leash. Passing kennel, she had ripped up her toy and greeted with wagging tail, lip‑licking, ears up, soft face.

9/25/2026 (PM):

Vocal during cleaning; wiggly body, dilated eyes, panting, pacing, jumping on kennel door. Walked on a very tight forward leash, pulling so hard her front paws lifted off the ground. Vocal again returning inside.

9/26/2026:

Greeted at kennel door with a very wiggly body and fast wagging tail.

9/28/2026:

Easily leashed; walked semi‑loosely with treats. Vocal during cleaning as other dogs passed. Later found quietly chewing her toy on her bed.

9/29/2026 (AM):

Greeted calmly in front of kennel. Easy to leash; loose leash walk, occasional pulling to sniff.

9/29/2026 (PM):

Continued vocalizing during cleaning before going outside. Quieted after enrichment. Enjoys chewing; destroys plush toys.

10/5/2026:

Greeted with soft face; easily leashed; walked forward loosely when treats were placed in front of her nose. Curved body, open‑mouth smile. Forward pull when walking out, not taking treats. Very vocal outside with high‑pitch barking. Passing kennel, greeted with wiggly body, ears back, dilated eyes.

9/30/2026: Dog laying at the back of the kennel with a curled body, easily leashed, but did not walk at first. Got up and did eventually walk to new clean kennel.

10/1/2026: Dog laying at the back of the kennel with a curled body, easily leashed, but did not walk at first. Got up and did eventually walk slowly outside to the runs. Easily placed into small run, as I felt that he would not come back to be due to his shyness. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

10/3/2026: Miles was a Move Adopt this morning and was walked on a semi-loose leash due to him not wanting to walk at certain points in the walk to his new kennel in South B. I offered him treats and he ignored them along the way. Later in the afternoon, he was more willingly to walk when a volunteer walked him to and from the outside runs.

10/4/2026: During morning walks, Miles walks with a semi-crouched body, whale eyes, and tucked tail along with not wanting to walk sometimes on the leash. While in the runs, he tends to avoid me when trying to leash him. When entering his kennel, he tries to keep his distance from you with a crouched body, whale eyes, ears down, and tucked tail. Made into Adopt Eval.

⚠️ What exactly do they expect❓️ A dog is being forcibly restrained against its will, terrified, and desperately trying to escape. The dog is showing whale eyes, barking, and running away, yet a catch pole is used.

That is fear, panic, and distress—not proof of aggression.

How can anyone expect a dog to remain calm when it is being chased, cornered, and physically restrained by strangers? Then the very fear response created by that experience is used against the dog?

You cannot terrorize a dog into compliance and then condemn it for being terrified.

9/25/2026: 2 dogs left behind when tenants moved. both large in size. 1 black and gray and 1 brown. Dogs continues to jump the fence to the neighbor’s yard. called in . states mother is elderly 87 years old.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

9/27/2026: placed leash on dog, flipped over showing stomach offered belly rubs. once on leash when trying to walk out of kennel began to pull back picked up and placed into outside run. ran around outside run relieved himself. leashed when bringing back dog took a few steps then began to pull back picked up and placed into new kennel

9/28/2026: Terrance was a Move Adopt this morning and was carried by another ACT to South B. He presented with a tense/shy body, ears down, tucked tail, and whale eyes. Terrance allowed me to pet him as I moved him to clean his kennel later in the morning.

9/29/2026: Approaching the kennel, Terrance was sitting by the kennel gate with whale eyes, semi-tense body, ears down, and low hanging tail. He did not want to walk on a leash so he was carried to the wall hook and tied there by a leash. He started to pull on the leash then thrash on it so I gave him some treats and he started to eat them quickly. Once finished, he started to pull on the leash again but stopped completely sat down.

10/3/2026: Terrance was laying down on his cot soft eyes, wiggling body, ears down, and low wagging tail. He did not want to walk on a leash so he was carried to the wall hook and tied there by a leash. He started to pull on the leash then thrash on it so I gave him some treats and he started to eat them quickly. Once finished, he started to pull on the leash again but stopped completely sat down.

9/30/2026: Weighed 29.0 lbs. S/O: hunched down in rear end, rear limbs angled medially at knees. knees thickened. A: ddx bilateral cranial cruciate injury/angular limb deformity. P: rx rimidyl 25mg bid x 14, needs rads V/D and lateral pelvis/knees/hocks.

10/2/2026: Weighed 30.0 lbs. Xray pelvis, knees and hocks. vet reviewed radiographs. Rads show: remodeling changes in both knees, ddx bilateral cranial cruciate injuries/other. Needs radiologist review and orthopedic consult. Given Torb and Ketofen.

10/2/2026: At the back of the kennel, as i leash him he avoided the leash, once i leash him he walked out the kennel army crawling. outside he would slowly walk then would crawl infront of my legs. then would slowly followed me into a new kennel

10/4/2026: At the back of the kennel with a tense body, low growling, and teeth showing. I opened the door and attempted to leash, but he began bluff charging at me with tail high. I attempted several times, before leaving in place as kennel was clean. Changed blanket and replaced water.

9/25/2026: animal walk loosley on leash…..

9/28/2026: Mr. Toby was a move adopt this morning, he was easy to leash and walked on a lose leash to and from runs. Had a happy tail and calm body did notice once in his kennel he does become vocal but then stops.

9/29/2026: Mr. Toby is a friendly dog, will leash with no issues, walk on a lose leash. I did notice today he will start to nonstop barking more when he sees people, will be panting as well.

10/1/2026: Vocal in kennel, barking. relaxed body, wagging tail. Easy to leash, walks on a semi tense body.

10/2/2026: Toby was very vocal throughout the day, waiting to go outside, as other dogs barked, as customers passed. He greeted me with a soft face, dilated eyes, ears back, and wagging tail. He was easily leashed and walked semi-loosely with a wiggly body.

10/3/2026: Toby was moved to treatment room today and he has been barking throughout the day. Toby will stand at the front as he presents loose body and dilated eyes and close mouth. Kennel remains cover.

🚑 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

9/23/2026: Weighed 47.0 lbs. Normal exam. Received DA2PP-V.

9/24/2026: Weighed 47.0 lbs. Vaccinated with Bordetella and Rabies, dewormed, and given Pyrantel and Advantage Multi. HW-.

9/29/2026: Weighed 42.8 lbs. Normal exam. Microchipped and neutered.

10/3/2026: Weighed 42.8 lbs. Was placed on tech eval to monitor for URI signs. This morning the dog was sneezing and and nasal discharge. Will move to treatment to start URI protocol.

A: DDx CIRD
P: Move to Tx room and initiate treatment; Rx Doxycycline 200mg SID x 10 days
