Skyler greets people with a relaxed body, wagging tail, and sweet "smile."

She enjoys spending time outside where she loves to run, play, sniff the world around her, and lounge in the grass. Like many young Huskies, she's energetic and playful. She responds well to patience, kind handling, and affection, often leaning into pets once she feels comfortable.

7/24/2026: Stood at the front of the kennel with her tail curled over her back and wagging. Walked to and from the runs on a semi-tight leash. Treat motivated and jumped onto the handler's legs to receive pets.

🚑 Medical Notes:

7/21/2026: Intake exam for an injured right front paw. Slightly lame with swelling of the fifth digit and a healing wound. Started on Carprofen (10 days) and Clavamox (10 days). Weighed 39.4 lbs. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention given, Pyrantel administered. Heartworm test: Low Positive.

7/22/2026: Veterinary recheck confirmed injury to the right front paw. Nail trim performed and treated with ketamine and ketofen for evaluation.

7/23/2026: X-rays revealed severe trauma to the right front paw. The middle phalangeal bone and head of the fifth metacarpal are shattered with metallic fragments present, consistent with a gunshot wound (BB or .22 caliber). The fifth digit is destroyed and part of the metacarpal is likely affected. BARC recommends transfer to a rescue so she has time to heal completely. If adopted directly, the adopter must be willing to pursue continued treatment for her injured toe.

Igor was recently saved in May from Miranda’s “sanctuary” in Fortuna, CA. There is an ongoing animal welfare investigation going on. Igor has been in training since mid May and is doing really well. He still has some separation anxiety and cannot be around small animals due to prey drive. All the info is in the picture above. 7/10/2026: When approaching the kennel, Cherry initially avoided the leash. Once she was out on a loose leash, she immediately found a spot outside to relieve herself.

7/15/2026: Cherry began vocalizing in her kennel because the neighboring dog was low growling and barking at the divider. She was placed on an adoption evaluation to monitor the behavior.

7/16/2026: During morning cleaning, Cherry was very vocal. When approached she had a wiggly body and jumped at the kennel door. While walking she stayed on a tight leash. In the play runs she barked at other dogs, and back in her kennel she barked at both people and dogs passing by.

🚑 Medical Notes:

7/6/2026: Weighed 59.8 lbs. Intake condition normal. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, given Pyrantel and Advantage Multi. Administered 2.00 mL Tranquilizer (TranQ2). Heartworm test: Negative.

JADA'S best moments happen outside the kennel. Inside, she's quiet and reserved. Even with her excitable kennel mate bouncing around, wagging her tail everywhere (including into JADA'S face! 😅), JADA stays calm, patient, and gentle.

But take her outside... That's when you see the real JADA. She gets excited for her walk, enjoys exploring, and her sweet personality begins to shine. The shelter doesn't define her—it just overwhelms her.

The heartbreaking part is that those walks are so few and far between. Volunteers do everything they can, but with so many dogs, some only get outside once a week... and some don't get out at all.💔

Then it's back to the kennel. Back to waiting. JADA deserves more than a few precious minutes outside each week. She deserves a home where every day starts with a walk, ends with a soft bed, and she never has to go back to a kennel again. Please help us get this gentle girl to safety.

laying down in kennel with back towards me. I opened kennel and leash and he got up slowly. walked on a loose leash when trying to retrieve from run he began to run away from me. had to ask another act to help me catch him.

dog was brought over by another act and placed dog in the kennel durign four on floor he was quiet and stood in front of the kennel.

07/03/26 13:27 Orion painted kennel overnight, also had made a mess of kibble. Quiet in kennel during cleaning, loose leash out to runs and back. Since he hadn't eaten in the morning gave him some more kibble after he had been outside and pottied, but he flipped the kibble again.

7/4/2026 BEHAVIOR NOTE
Orion was walked on a loose leash and neutral to and from the outside runs and paid little attention to other dogs as he passed their runs and kennels. He did a good job of keeping his kennel clean overnight. While in the run, Orion was giving another dog a hard stare before he started to vocalize at them and followed them for a short time before he lost interest and walked around in his run.

Orion greeted me at the kennel door with a clean kennel and laying quietly on his cot. He let me leash him and walked loosely to and from the potty yards. Inside his kennel he can be seen relaxing quietly on his cot.

Greets me loosely at the front of kennel door. I am able to easily leash and he walks out on a loose leash. He remains relaxed while outside. Comes back to kennel and is quiet and relaxed on bedding.

During morning walks, when a dog got close to Orion's kennel to sniff him Orion stood up quickly and started vocalizing towards that dog as they walked passed his kennel. Made into Adopt Eval.

7/13/2026 BEHAVIOR NOTE
Orion is relaxed and quiet in his kennel. I had another dog walk by and sniff him and he sniffed back and was relaxed as dog contniued to walk by. Walks on a loose leash. He remains relaxed in and out of kennel.

📝 Shelter Notes:

6/30/2026: Thrashed during her heartworm test, making it difficult to complete.

7/1/2026: High-pitched vocalizing in her kennel. Easily leashed but very aware of her surroundings and pulled in all directions outside. Showed no interest in treats. Returned to her kennel vocalizing and knocking on the door around feeding time.

7/2/2026: Quiet during kennel cleaning but pulled on the leash while walking to the runs.

7/4/2026: Greeted staff with a relaxed body, soft smiling mouth, and slow wagging tail. Walked on a forward leash but did not pull.

7/7/2026: Quietly waited to be leashed. Walked well on a loose leash and calmly returned to her kennel.

7/8/2026: Brought out for an adoption visit. Walked on a loose leash, remained calm outside, and re-entered her kennel without issue. Began high-pitched vocalizing again after returning to her kennel and continued during cleaning.

7/9/2026: Became vocal as it neared her turn to go outside but quieted once leashed. Walked on a semi-loose leash with a neutral body. Panting with dilated eyes and curled, swaying tail while watching people pass.

7/10/2026: Very vocal during morning cleaning. Displayed a neutral body, low tail, and soft closed mouth.

7/12/2026: Started high-pitched vocalizing during morning walks and pulled on the kennel cover that had been placed over her gate. Walked on a loose leash, remained neutral around other dogs, and paid little attention to them.

7/13/2026: Sat quietly in front of her kennel with a neutral body, ears up, and low-hanging tail. Walked on a loose leash, remained neutral around other dogs, but resumed vocalizing and jumping on the kennel walls after returning.

🚑 Medical Notes:
6/30/2026: Weighed 54.0 lbs. Intake condition normal. Vaccinated with Rabies, DA2PP-V, and Bordetella. Dewormed with Pyrantel. Given Advantage Multi.
7/1/2026: Heartworm test: Negative. Staff noted she appears to already be spayed.
