Hope everyone's having a great day!

So many of our resources and donations have gone toward recent vet bills, some of which you can see on our profile. We now have three FIP patients; two community cats had emergency spays; several cats had their vaccinations updated; and ongoing hospitalizations.

It’s been an overwhelming month, to say the least, but we’re doing our best to keep up with everyone who needs us. Along the way, we have not been able to fundraise much for food, and we've tried to cover as much of it out of pocket, but we can only do so much. This community has always been a huge part of helping us keep things going.

If you’re able to support us, it would mean so much and make a huge difference. Our food supplies only last until tomorrow morning, and with three FIP patients, our FIP meds are flying off the shelves too.

Blind baby fighting to heal, and he needs our help. 🤍 He’s hospitalized and battling IBD, with his medical costs quickly adding up. Any support would mean so much!

Hope everyone is having a pleasant week! 🤍

Hawkeye is one of our rescued cats from last year, after his eye was stabbed by some rando while he was still a stray. We placed him for adoption after his rehabilitation, but he was shortly returned to us after struggling to adjust to his new home. (His adopters unfortunately didn’t give him the time he needed. :/) He’s been with us ever since, and now he’s facing another major health hurdle.

Hawkeye started having medical issues over a month ago. After countless tests, a trip to the oncologist, and now hospitalization, he’s finally starting to feel a little better. Just over a week ago, he was in really rough shape - having endless watery stools, becoming severely dehydrated, barely eating, and losing weight day by day. He’s not out of the woods yet, but it’s the first time he’s seemed better in what feels like forever.

Unfortunately, Hawkeye is dealing with an extremely severe infection (see his labs in the 3rd & 7th panels) on top of his IBD. He was previously at risk of sepsis, though thankfully that risk is much lower now as his infection improves. His gut still can’t tolerate oral antibiotics, and he often vomits them back up, so he remains on IV medication and fluids to replace what he continues to lose through his stool. Our vet also recently added another steroid alongside prednisolone, and thankfully, we’re seeing very promising results so far.

Getting him here has come with high costs. His current bill is a little over $449, with hospitalization at $42/day. He also has another ultrasound and blood test coming up in the next few days, which will add to his bill. Our donation channels can be found below!

Who would’ve thought an extreme feral would turn out to be so snuggly. Eternally grateful to everyone who’s been part of Grey’s journey. He’s now making his way across the rainbow bridge 🩶🌈

We just bid farewell to the sweetest baby. I know we introduced Grey as one of our hospice kitties, but he is so much more than that.

We’ve been feeding him in our neighborhood since late 2022, and apparently he had been roaming the streets for over a decade. He was rarely within 5 feet of us while he was still a stray. He was also the very first feral I ever caught on my own for TNR (it took so many attempts trapping him!!!), so he’s always been a particularly special boy to me.

It was so random when one day, he just stared at me and apparently decided I wasn’t so bad after all. He started rubbing himself against my calves endlessly. This was the same cat who used to bolt the second we placed a plate of food in front of him. Everything was on his terms at first, but eventually, he let us pet him more and more.

That was when we discovered his hernia, which led us to bring him to the vet. We incidentally found out that he had kidney disease and had already lost the majority of his kidney structure. We took him in then, and somehow, he still made it through another 9 months with us.

He was such a sweet lap cat who loved being snuggled. The indoor life really suited him, and we so wish he had more of it. He had so much love to give, and we're so glad he discovered that part of him. That there was no reason to be so scared, and he could let his guard down.

Photos were taken today, before he went into a deep sleep toward the light. 🩶

Senior cat with end-stage kidney disease needs support to settle his vet bill and continue care at home

Grey is our hospice-rescued cat set to come home tomorrow. There’s been very little improvement in his values over the five days he’s been hospitalized, so unfortunately, it seems his current CKD crash could not be reversed.

Being a senior cat in the clinic has also been understandably scary and stressful for him. He started showing signs of hypertension today as well, and our vet is currently managing it closely.

It’s been a difficult month for us, especially with another rescue cat still hospitalized. Donations have also been quieter than usual, so we’ve been doing our best to cover food, FIP medication, and other medical needs with the little resources we have.

We were able to raise $141 from our last call for help, with $70 going toward Grey’s bill. We still have $271 remaining to settle.

If you’re able to help with any part of his remaining bill, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every bit helps us bring Grey home and continue giving him the care and comfort he needs, especially with what may be the little time we have left with him.

Grey’s kidney disease is worsening & Hawkeye continues to decline | Help urgently needed 🙏

Hello all 👋 Hawkeye and Grey are currently hospitalized, and we’re hoping for a little help as we navigate some difficult health hurdles with both of them.

Hawkeye has always been a healthy boy until a recent decline. He developed severe gastrointestinal problems, at one point passing completely watery stool four to five times a day. His symptoms got worse by the day and he’s now hospitalized.

We consulted an oncologist a few days ago to rule out lymphoma; no biopsy has been performed yet, but with the tests done so far, his team thinks inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is more likely than cancer. They have started a therapeutic trial of IBD medications and will monitor his response to guide further care.

His bill is now $211, with hospitalization costs at $42/day.

Grey is a senior community cat we took in as a hospice case after discovering his CKD. He had been doing better since his last check, but has now stopped eating and is struggling to retain fluids, with his kidney values rising further. He’ll be hospitalized for the next few days to see if stabilization is still possible.

His bill so far is at $130, with hospitalization costs at $33/day.

If you’re in a position to help, even a small amount would mean so much to us. We hope to give these two boys a chance to get better. 🙏

Over 15 community cats in need of neutering, and many more relying on food every day! Help cover a cat's neuter or meal!

Link to our previous TNR trip: https://redd.it/1tln1u3

Hope everyone's having a wonderful day. 🤍 It's been a while since our last TNR trip, and we're hoping to organize another one soon.

We're planning to avail a TNVR service, where a team from our trusted neuter clinic will help us trap and transport the cats, perform their spay/neuter surgeries, and provide a 3-day recovery period afterward. The service requires a minimum of 15 cats and can accommodate up to 40 in a single trip.

Rates are at $25 per cat (vax & short-acting antibiotics included) + $66 for the transport vehicle!

If we're able to raise more, we'll increase the number of cats we can get neutered. Funds raised today will be divided toward both neuter costs and feeding the 40+ community cats we care for every day. A typical restock costs around $200 and covers 3 sacks of dry food and 3 boxes of wet food!

🆘 Leon's neurological symptoms are worsening - support needed | Hawkeye's oncology update

Hope everyone's having a great week. We're unfortunately facing another hurdle, but this time with Leon.

Leon is one of our most recent intakes. He was abandoned at a public market, and not long after we rescued him, he was diagnosed with neurological FIP.

Today is day 42 of 84 of his treatment, and up until now he's been doing really well. This evening, though, we noticed he's been having a much harder time finding his footing, and his head tilt has become more pronounced.

We're hoping it's just an ear infection, but we need to have him checked to make sure this isn't related to his FIP, as he may need an increase in his medication. He's also lost a little bit of weight, which is something we haven't seen over the past couple of weeks.

Thank you all for being there for Leon from the very beginning. We honestly wouldn't have made it this far without your support. If you're able to help us get him through this, we'd be so immensely grateful.

📩 Donate via PayPal

📩 Donate via Debit or Credit Card

We're expecting over $176 in expenses for Leon:

• Consult: $8

• Comprehensive blood work: $58

• Ear cytology: $11

• 3 vials of FIP treatment: $99

As for Hawkeye, we wanted to thank every single person who donated and helped boost our last post. ❤️

We made an emergency trip to our local vet yesterday after he started vomiting, followed by his oncology consult today. So far, we've spent $282 on tests and appointments, and raised $243!

The good news is that his fine needle aspiration didn't show any signs of malignancy in either his lymph nodes or the lump on his body. Lymphoma isn't completely ruled out just yet, but it's looking less likely for now.

What concerns us most is the severity of his infection, which has worsened dramatically in just a week. The hope is that it's a severe case of bacterial enteritis and that he'll respond to his new medications.

If he doesn't improve over the next week, he'll likely need a biopsy to determine whether we're dealing with IBD or lymphoma.

We'll have more updates in a week once we see how he responds. Thank you all again for being here for Hawkeye!

Hawkeye's health is declining | help us get him to his oncology appointment 🆘

Hope everyone's having a better start to the week than Hawkeye. 💔

Over the last couple of weeks, our sweet foster boy hasn't been doing well, and despite multiple vet visits and tests, we're still left with very few answers.

It all started with what we thought were food allergies - but it wasn't. His kidneys, thyroid, and other organ functions have all come back normal on multiple tests. Yet he's been dealing with constant diarrhea (not parasite or virus-related), has been steadily losing weight, and has become increasingly lethargic.

IBD was one of the possibilities, but yesterday we found a lump on his body. His vet has now referred him to an oncologist, as he's showing signs that could be consistent with lymphoma. Being FIV+ unfortunately puts him at a much higher risk for this.

We have his oncology appointment this Wednesday, and we're really hoping it'll finally give us some answers. The consult and diagnostics are expensive, but it'll help guide us to the right next steps for this boy. We hope you can help this boy feel better. 🙏

📩 Donate via PayPal

📩 Donate via Debit or Credit Card

Consult: $15

Blood work: $69

Fine needle aspiration: $84

Ultrasound/X-rays: $49

Estimated total: $217

These rates are based on our previous oncology appointment with another rescue and may vary depending on what additional tests Hawkeye needs.

We'll share updates on Hawkeye's health in the coming days. Thank you!

We came across a hypothermic, weak stray today. He's currently being treated but we need your help to keep going 🙏

We came across this boy while we were out feeding our community cats today. It's so difficult to just leave him behind when doing so would almost certainly be a death sentence for him.

At first, we all thought he was one of the ferals who occasionally shows up during our feeding rounds. But the cat we had mistaken him for actually showed up tonight right after we brought this little guy to the vet. So we don't know this cat at all, or how he stumbled in one of our feeding areas.

He's hypothermic, was soaking wet, and incredibly thin. The vet wasn't able to extract blood from him since he's also severely dehydrated, so they'll try to do his labs tomorrow. We honestly thought he was a goner, and while he's still not out of the woods, his temperature has risen to 36°C after initially being unreadable. He also licked food from the syringe during assisted feeding, which gave us a little bit of hope.

We're giving him every chance to recover, as long as he keeps fighting.

We named him Ares. Any support for this guy's recovery would be immensely appreciated. Our donation links can be seen below:

🆘 Seeking support to cover emaciated stray kitty Ursula's remaining hospitalization costs 🙏

Reposting, we've received $40 out of our $310 goal from the previous post.

It's quite evident from these photos that Ursula has made solid progress over the last week. After starting treatment for FIP (she showed neurological, effusive, and ocular symptoms), she's brighter, a little fuller, and far less bonier than when we first took her in.

She's a very sweet kitty but has a long road of recovery ahead of her - 84 days to be specific. We just have one request as we'll need to fully cover her bill before she heads home tomorrow.

We're raising $310 for Ursula's remaining vet bill + two vials of FIP medication, which will fund about one more week of treatment at home. Because she’s on a high dose treatment protocol, her medication supply is being used quickly. Every bit of support counts and would be immensely appreciated. 🤍

Update on Ursula: recovering emaciated stray, but we’re now overwhelmed with two FIP cases. Help is urgently needed to continue their life-saving treatment. 🙏🆘

Previous post about Ursula

Ursula was a community cat from the market who’d been mysteriously emaciated and unwell. Her labs now point to FIP, and because she has fluid in her abdomen plus neurological signs. The vet started treatment two days ago, and she may be stable enough to continue treatment at home by the end of the week.

FIP is frustrating, but treatment is thankfully available. We were all wrong thinking she’d be a hospice cat, as her thyroid and other organ functions are normal.

Previous post about Leon

Leon has made amazing progress since starting treatment for neurological FIP. Aside from a minor head tilt and that he stomps when he walks, his major neurological symptoms have mostly resolved as we complete the first month of treatment.

It’s been overwhelming to care for two FIP cats at once, and I’m uneasy about the coming months. We hope you can help with current costs for Ursula’s hospitalization, Leon’s upcoming check, and meds for both cats.

Outstanding vet bill for Ursula: $231

Leon’s upcoming health check: $65

FIP meds needed per week for both cats (3 vials): $97

One vial = $33. A week’s meds = $97. A month’s meds = $259. 🥹

We’d really appreciate any help more than ever now. Our donation channels can be seen below:

Sick emaciated stray cat in need of support as she recovers 🙏

Hi all, this is Ursula. She's one of the newest community cat additions to the colony we're feeding in the nearby public market. We were hoping to include her in our next TNR trip, but since she's thin and not in the best health shape, we wanted to rehabilitate her first before putting her body through surgery. Or at least that was the initial plan.

Normally supplements and feeding them more regularly helps their body to recover. I've been weighing her every day since we took her in 5 days ago but she's been losing even more weight, despite normal eating habits and stool outputs. She drinks a TON of water and pees a lot too, so she dehydrates quite badly. We suspect she has kidney disease and potentially thyroid issues. We should have the labs in a day or two.

The vet did initial blood work, and her CBC points to an infection + dehydration. We also got her X-rays as she sways when she walks. Could be a severe muscle wasting issue or that she has mild cerebellar hypoplasia. Vet just wanted to keep her for a few days at the clinic because sub-q fluids haven't been enough to normalize her hydration levels.

So far expenses (tests, admission fee) have totaled to a bit over $165 and will grow in the coming days as she stays at the clinic. Her daily confinement fee is $33, and she may stay at the clinic for the next 5-7 days. We'd appreciate any help for Ursula, and will keep you posted on her recovery!
