We have some amazing news🥹 This tiny baby can already walk 🥹 Just one day after surgery, he is already showing incredible strength and is expected to make a full recovery. Thanks to your love and support, an innocent little life was saved and given the happy ending he deserves 🤍🫶🏻

We have some amazing news 🥹🫶🏻

The surgery was a complete success and our little baby can already walk. We honestly cannot believe how fast this happened. It’s incredible what surgery can do for such a tiny soul 🐾

We saved a life today. We truly did. And thanks to all of you, this innocent baby is expected to make a full recovery 🤍

The vets placed metal plates in his bone and in 2 weeks they will assess whether they should stay in permanently or be removed. For now, he needs to move as little as possible while he heals. It’s so hard for such a curious little baby 🥹 We are keeping him in the cage for now and he absolutely hates it, but it’s only temporary 🙏🏻

We were so worried because he is so small. We were terrified before the surgery. But our brave little fighter made it through and is already doing so well after just 1 day. Poor baby is finally getting the happy ending he deserves 🐱✨

We honestly cannot put into words how grateful we are. Every share, every donation, every message, every person who cared, you helped save an innocent life today ❤️

Thank you for saving a lige agiving this little soul a second chance

Abandoned kittens in critical condition — need urgent care and support

I found a group of abandoned kittens on the street in very poor condition. They are of different ages, and at least three are still too young to eat solid food and depend only on milk.

They are extremely underweight, with bloated bellies, skin infections, and clear signs of malnutrition and weakness. Some of them are very fragile but still trying to survive.

One of the smallest kittens has suddenly become very weak, and I’m really worried about her condition. She barely has the strength to move or eat.

I took them in to a safer place because leaving them outside would have meant certain death. I already care for many rescued cats, including sick and disabled ones, so I’m now struggling with very limited resources.

Right now, they urgently need:

• Kitten milk replacer

• Food for malnourished kittens

• Deworming and basic medication

• Basic care supplies

Any small support would help them survive this critical stage and recover.

If you can help:

💔 Locked inside a pet shop for 5 days without food, water, or proper electricity… now all 7 cats and 3 tiny kittens are sick and fighting to survive. Please help us give them the treatment and care they desperately need. 🙏🏻🐾

Today our hearts shattered once again. 💔

We received desperate messages about animals trapped inside a locked pet shop for 5 unbearable days… no food, no water, no proper electricity, suffering silently in this deadly heat while nobody came for them.

When they finally arrived at our shelter, we found 7 cats and 3 tiny kittens in heartbreaking condition. They were starving, dehydrated, weak, terrified, and completely exhausted from suffering. Some are visibly sick, and the kittens are premature, fragile, and desperately need medical care and monitoring.

After their vet visits, we found that all of them are sick and now urgently need proper treatment, medications, supplements, and continuous care to survive and recover. 💔

We cannot even imagine the fear and pain they went through during those endless days of hunger and heat.

But right now, we are struggling badly ourselves. Our shelter is completely drained financially. We are already overwhelmed with rescue cases, unpaid vet bills, medicines, food expenses, and daily care, yet we could not turn our backs on these innocent souls.

Please… we truly need your support right now. Even the smallest donation can help save these babies from more suffering. Your kindness can be the reason they finally feel safe, loved, and cared for after everything they endured. 🙏🏻

A stray is clearly pregnant. Will I be helping or hurting if I take her in temporarily?

I want to take her in to help her in birthing giving her shelter, food, water and vet care but can't take the cats in forever (I'm allergic; landlord is opposed; leaving the country soon). I live in a culture where people rarely take in stray animals so I doubt I could place them in other homes.

I'm afraid offering temporary help will delay the skill development the kittens need to survive (getting food, water, shelter). It may also be a rough transition whenever I need to leave. Should I intervene or let nature work this out? What are your thoughts?

HELP NEEDED | Support For Abandoned Cat Elfy in Her 84-Day Battle Against Neuro FIP. Any amount you can send will be a big help in her medical treatment. Thank you.

Good day, everyone!

I am a solo animal rescuer based in Manila, Philippines.

Elfy is an abandoned cat whom I rescued after finding her extremely weak, malnourished, and struggling to eat. On May 9, I was able to bring her to the vet. According to the vet, Elfy has dental issues and was diagnosed with Neuro FIP. She was confined for three days and prescribed oral medications, as well as GS-441524 — a daily injectable treatment for FIP.

Elfy received her first GS injection on May 15 and has been receiving her daily shots continuously since then. Thankfully, she has been showing improvements every single day. Her weight has increased from 1.6 kg to 2 kg, and she now has more energy and a much better appetite.

Today, I was able to bring Elfy back to Serbisyo Beterinaryo Animal Hospital (the same animal hospital where she was confined and diagnosed with Neuro FIP) for a follow-up check-up. The vet said she is slightly anemic (usually happens to Neuro FIP patients) and was prescribed an oral iron supplement. The vet also confirmed that Elfy’s FIP treatment will last up to 84 days.

I was also able to purchase Elfy’s second vial of GS-441524 through the website recommended by the vet: https://www.basmifipphilippines.com/

Elfy is now on her second vial. Since the dosage depends on her weight and she continues to gain weight almost every day, each vial only lasts for a few days. The website where I purchase the GS medication also has a dosage calculator that veterinarians follow.

Today, I am humbly knocking on your heart's door to help support Elfy’s medical expenses as she continues her fight against Neuro FIP. She is incredibly brave and strong, but she still needs our help. Let us please help her win this battle. She deserves the chance to live a healthier, happier, and longer life.

Any amount you can share will mean so much and will go directly toward Elfy’s treatment and care. Rest assured that I will continue posting updates with photos and receipts throughout Elfy’s recovery journey. Thank you.

Donations will be used for:

• 2 vials of GS-441524 ($35 per vial) – $70

• 12 cans of recovery food ($4 per can) – $48

• 12 days of injection fees ($8 per shot/day) – $96

• 12 days of transportation for injections ($2 per day) – $24

• Follow-up check-up every 14 days (next appointment: June 4) – $23

Total Needed: $261

Please note that I bring Elfy to the nearest veterinary clinic, Deloso Veterinary Clinic, for her daily GS-441524 injections.

These sweet kitties need sponsorship for spay/neuter - cats in Jamaica

Hi everyone, these sweet kitties are on the waiting list for a neuter grant. Please consider giving a grant gift to help them get their surgeries done in May-June.

In Jamaica, the lowest cost for a spay or neuter surgery is about $65 USD, which is still not affordable for many cat owners. Through our Neuter Grant Program, we help low income cat owners reduce the cost so their cats can be fixed and prevent more unwanted kittens, abandoned pregnant cats, and male cats being put out because they are in heat. Recently we've had an influx of applications for grants. Your support helps us keep this program alive!

A grant gift for one cat is $35 USD or $5000 JMD. The owner pays the remaining balance, and together we are able to change their future.

You can donate a portion or fully sponsor a cat. 💝

Sponsor a specific cat here:

Donate to the Neuter Grant Program here:

You can also make a deposit at the cashier at the JSPCA, 10 Winchester Rd, Kingston, to the “OnlyPaws Cat Grants” account.

For direct bank transfer deposits to the JSPCA, fill out the form here so it can be applied to our account:

(Lakewood/USA) •Need cat food/supplies for my colony cats 🐾•Everything

Hi! I manage a 6-cat TNR colony and am looking for a little help keeping them fed and cared for.

u/Berkshirelady413 — 1 day ago

How long ago did this mom nurse? Hoping kitties are alive after tom cat went under where her nest is. (NJ, USA)

So mom has kittens on 4/17. I only know bc she wasn’t here for 36 hours to eat, and when she returned she had blood on her butt.

It’s now 5/20 and I haven’t seen any kittens.

She’s going under my house and I know she’s in & out all the time bc I set up a trail cam. I know she definitely had at least 1 kitten obviously you can tell by her nipples and how she was constantly under there, comes out for 30 min, goes back under.

She’s being out and about more now.

But the issue is… there’s a tom cat coming around the last week. I heard them almost fight once. Now 2 nights ago, (Monday night it’s now Weds) the tom cat went underneath the house, where her nest is. I know they got into a fight, but she’s fine, no injuries.

My worry is the fact that on Tuesday, I never saw this mom come back under the house at all on the trail cam. And I saw the tom cat go under, but never come out. He stayed there all day Tuesday, he left when I stuck an endoscope type camera (idk if that’s the name lol) under another crack and I saw him on camera, then he left.

I’m so stressed that he killed the kittens. I know this mama didn’t move the kitties cus I would’ve gotten it on camera. I took these photos 20 min ago, right in front of the opening for her nest, and as soon as I went back on the porch, she went back under the house.

I can see the dried milk. But does that mean she hasn’t nursed in a few days? Or is that a sign that she nursed today? Or is there just no way to tell?

I’m worrying myself sick over this. I just want the kittens to come out so I can take them , and mom, all to the vet to get kitties homes and mama spayed.

💔 Vet confirmed fractures in both front legs along with severe infection. Because of the swelling and infection, plaster isn’t possible right now. Poor baby is in unbearable pain, but he has started treatment and we are praying he heals soon. Please keep supporting his journey to recovery. 🙏🏻🐾

💔 **Update on Our Brave Little Boy**

Today we took him for his vet visit, and it was heartbreaking but important.

The examination confirmed that he has **fractures in both front legs along with a severe infection**. Due to the infection and swelling, **plaster or casting is not possible at the moment**. The vet has started him on **medication, pain relief, and infection control treatment** to stabilize his condition first. And after that surgery we will receive his X-rays soon to see the intensity of fracture.

Right now, he is still in **severe pain and very weak**, but he is finally under proper medical care. We are doing everything we can to keep him comfortable and safe through this critical stage.

The good news is this is not the end of hope. With consistent treatment, care, and time, he **still has a chance to heal and recover**.

Please keep him in your prayers and continue supporting us. Every share, every donation, and every kind message truly makes a difference in his fight for survival. 🐾💔

We will keep updating his progress regularly. Thank you for standing with him.

Emergency for Jif, TNR overdrive, the nonstop work (Flint, Michigan)

I wish I could just work helping cats =24 hours a day - 7 days a week. The need is great and I am just one old lady - giving my entire heart, time, energy, strength, and soul. Last week, rescued 2 kittens who are now in foster (rescue backing) trapped 3 adult cats (one pregnant, one lactating, one male.
Saturday afternoon I got a call about a kitten crying in tree. The caller couldn’t find the kitty, I was 30 minutes away (in completely isolated area - no houses );but immediately dropped everything to search for this baby. Was he dumped him because of injury?
In all my time doing this …….I have NEVER seen this, this kitten was so sick and injured. He was on death’s door….. . He was a tiny little boy, and his fur had blue/green powder all over.
I thought he had been spray painted blue - but the truth was he was starving, dehydrated, and suffering from anal gland infection. He could NOT expel waste, he had nothing in his stomach. His behind had enormous wound, it was like burning acid eating away at him.
I got home with him at 2:45, the vet I use closes at 3 on Saturday and they are closed both Sunday & Monday. I was totally heartbroken for this little guy. I tried to find rescue help for him, as the only other option was Emergency vet - something I’ve tried to use over the years but ultimately is of zero help to me. The charge is $150 just to walk in, then they will create a estimate (always several thousand dollars- might as well be a million) They would not do anything for him unless I had thousands sitting in the bank. Totally disheartening, but the reality.
His only hope was me ….. i am old, caring for over 60 cats, doing TNR for 6 + cats every month ( 350 fixed so far - approximately 100 every year. I don’t have significant other, my family is nearly all gone, and my only friends are cats. But, I am only 1 person caring for so many cats - I sacrifice it all for them ….but eventually I am going to go down and not be able to get up. Sleep deprived, physically past the point of log

The pain this poor tiny soul had to endure, it was almost more than I could handle….
This shook me to the core, emotionally devastated & physically exhausted, praying I would somehow get through this. So what can I do ?!! TRY MY BEST…. I give my all to every cat, this kitten would need more.
First, he was starving so he eagerly ate a can of food, his prognosis was not ideal, but just getting the nourishment in his body, helped him with a tiny amount of strength. I had an entire conversation with him - and I believe he understood. I told him, he was perfect, and he was not alone. I was with him, I would fight with every drop of my soul to help him, but he was going to have to fight too.
took about 4-5 hours for his system to attempt regular function. For the next 24 hours, he ate -drank-slept and pooped. He was fighting back….. I was so happy to be cleaning poop mess, lots of poop , tons of cleaning, more poop, cleaning …..
the second day, his spunk was beginning to appear. Around 56 hours after I rescued Jif, a rescue replied YES-
I felt on top of the world - I was able to save his life & now secure his future ….. this WIN was huge.
He was picked up by the rescue around 60 hours after I met him. He went directly to the vet - and he was cleared for neuter surgery- Jif beat the odds - after knowing nothing about the world except pain and suffering, enduring the harshest existence, Jif will now know nothing but love and security. This WIN was enormous…… I could now collapse in bed - right? No…..because I still have all the cats here to feed and care for - plus 3 more for TNR tomorrow.
I’m only still standing because of my complete happiness for Jif. My body hurts everywhere, I can’t drive today because of sleep deprivation, my mind is disconnected….. but I got 4 hours sleep to prepare for tonight’s trapping -
We need more people in this fight - I can go nonstop for only so long - eventually I will collapse, it would be so incredible if I had someone willing to feed the colonies for 1 day - but the truth is ….. many people just ignore the cries….and the only person I can count on here is me -
Please consider helping me stay strong in this war …..
I really need another trap -

First time on soft surface after 6 years of cement and brick

I moved in a new house in East London about 8 months ago. Saw him in the parking lots but he seemed shy. In March, I started finding him in front of my door after I got a new door rug. I realised it was because it was softer for him to sleep
on so I put a pillow in a crate for him in a little sheltered space in front of my door. He slept there every night since and spends most of his time in front of my door. I treated him for fleas and worms and he became much happier. For 2 months I’ve been feeding him regularly but he didn’t want to come in the house to start with. I started feeding him inside and he slowly became more comfortable in the space. For the last week he has been barging in whenever I open the door (and he’s not sleeping in his box just a few feet away).

I have hard floors downstairs but I put up a few places where he could sleep. He did have a few preferred places but doesn’t like to stay in more than an hour after he eats. He would go at the door and meow to be let out. I checked the cameras and he just goes to his pillow and spends the rest of the day there

Today, I let him go upstairs for the first time where the floor is carpeted. The carpets are thick and new. He spent a whole hour just pushing different parts of his body in the softness. I’ve never seen a cat have a spa day before.

I guess I’ll see how the situation goes and if he wants to spend more time inside, I’m definitely interested in adopting him properly. I still want to take him to the vet and make sure any issues he has are dealt with. The problem is that a neighbour claimed the cat is his. When Oscar, the cat, first started sleeping by my door, after about a week, a neighbour came and took him. The cat was back a few hours later. A second time happened a few days later, the cat was back about 4 hours after. Since then, he comes to check on the cat about once every 10 days. I think he leaves dry food out but there are many other cats and foxes in the area, plus Oscar has lost most teeth so prefers wet food, which I provide ( I even mush it with a spoon 😂)

We talked twice and while he seemed ok with me taking care of the cat, he did both times made it seem like he considers the cat his. I found out it was abandoned by someone who moved out 6 years ago and he’s cared for it. And by that I mean he put out food from time to time and, as far as I can see, no shelter. He told me Oscar doesn’t like to play, I play with him every day.

I’ll be traveling a bit in June (I’ve arranged friends to come and feed him at least once a day) but I’d like to properly adopt him when I’m back. Any suggestions on what do to if the neighbour tries to prevent me?

This tiny kitten was found unable to walk, dragging himself across the ground with two broken back legs and an injured paw💔 He needs urgent surgery to walk again, but we do not have the funds to cover the vet bill. Please help us save this tiny baby. It deserves a chance ❤️ (Cyprus)

On Saturday morning, an elderly woman called one of our volunteers and said she had found a tiny kitten in terrible condition. He couldn’t walk. She said she had no car, no money, and no way to help him herself. She said: “If you can’t take him, I’ll have to bring him to a vet to be euthanized.”

She sent a video and when we saw, our heart broke💔

This tiny baby, probably not even two months old yet, was dragging himself across dirty ground using only his front paws. His back legs were limp like little rags. He kept collapsing every few seconds. There was also a deep wound on one of his back legs.

She lived next to a vet clinic so we asked her to take him there and said we would come talk to the vet and cover the cost.

When our volunteer arrived, his injured leg had been bandaged. The vet told us both back legs were broken and that there was nothing he could do. He said that if we wanted to help him, we needed to find an orthopedic specialist.

Our volunteer took the kitten home while trying to arrange an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon in another city. Out volunteer placed him on her bed and when he saw her adult cat, he started crying and crawling toward him like he thought he had found his mother💔😢 She fed him kitten milk through a syringe because he was starving.

Nobody knows what happened to him. We suspect he climbed inside a car engine for warmth during the cold night, like many tiny kittens do here and got crushed when the car started moving. But that’s only a guess.

We knew we couldn’t leave him suffering like this.

Even though it was already Saturday afternoon and most clinics in Cyprus close early, a veterinary orthopedic clinic in another city agreed to see us and we drove there immediately. They finally took proper X-rays and confirmed that both legs were fractured.

They said they will keep him at the clinic over the weekend.

On Monday morning they called and said the orthopedic surgeon had reviewed the scans and that surgery was necessary if this baby was ever going to walk, run, and jump normally again. We agreed to the surgery. The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.

But the estimated vet bill is €400 and we honestly cannot cover it alone after so many rescue cases. We still have vet bill depts. we run a small rescue organization and people constantly call us when they find injured kittens because they know we won’t say no.

We are asking from the bottom of our heart: if anyone can help even a little, it would mean everything to this tiny baby and to me.

We provide X-rays, clinic documents, updates, and proof of the surgery.

Thank you for all the love and support ❤️

Street cats make great pets if you give them a chance 🩷

Look at these beautiful transformations of Jamaican street cats (Jamaicats) 🩷 All they need is a chance.

That gap between the “Before” and “After” is the rescue and that’s where Your support comes in. We simply couldn’t do this work without our supawhero sponsors giving street cats in Jamaica hope and a second chance at survival. Thank you so much!

There are so many more rescue stories but we’ll share them in another post. In the past year, with your support, we’ve successfully placed 38 Jamaican street cats into loving homes.

Thank you to all sponsors and supporters making this possible. Thank you to all amazing adopters committed to giving rescued street cats the best life possible. We love getting updates of our former rescues living like they’ve never spent a day on the streets. ❤️

OnlyPaws Cat Rescue's mission is to protect and advocate for street cats in Jamaica. Our cats often get abused, abandoned and left to suffer under harsh conditions but we are their voice, we are their hope and we will always stand for them! We will show the people of Jamaica that our cats deserve love and slowly change the perception of these animals here.
