Update on Imara: pirate cancer warrior whom this community has supported so generously in the past. We hope for your continued help as she navigates the next steps of her palliative care journey 🙏

We're raising $322 to cover Imara's tests and fospice care 🙏

It's been a while since we shared an update about Imara! ❤️

She's been doing wonderfully and has adjusted so well to living with us. Imara was originally a neglected kitty whose rescue journey started with a friend before her care was eventually passed on to us.

She has a large lesion on the right side of her face that had long been suspected to be cancer. Our local vet relayed her biopsy results in the last week of June, and we had our first oncology consult yesterday. Her results confirmed that she has squamous cell carcinoma. After multiple tests with the oncologist, we've learned that her cancer is high-grade and currently at stage 3.

The good news is that there are virtually no signs of metastasis - at least not in her lungs, her slow-healing wounds on her back (5th photo), or in any of her lymph nodes except possibly for the one adjacent to her lesion. The vet recommended we pursue chemo, but because of how extensive her lesion had already become by the time she was rescued, chemotherapy would be palliative rather than curative.

Chemo can extend her life, but her quality of life during it could be hit or miss. We've read that cats often tolerate chemotherapy better than humans do, but we don't want Imara to go through unnecessary stress or side effects if there's a chance it could sacrifice the comfort she currently has. Right now, she's doing very well on her combination of pain medications and analgesics. She rarely has bad days and is as food-motivated as ever.

We've always known deep down that Imara may be around for just a good time and not a long time, and when the time comes, we'd be glad to help her cross over with the dignity she deserves. But for now, it looks like we'd have a few more happy months with her.

Help with covering Miss Imara's tests would be so appreciated. We may need a bacterial culture by her next visit because she has a non-resolving infection (breakdown at the end). Our donation channels can be seen below!

Can you spare a peso for our rescues’ medical supplies? 🐾

Hi fam! We need your help.

We’re currently running low on sodium chloride for cleaning the wounds of our rescues, especially Pilay. We also need sterile water and salbutamol for nebulizing our cats with colds.

Sadly, many of our rescues are sick with upper respiratory infections right now, and it’s been incredibly stressful as we’ve had back-to-back vet visits. 😿

We’re planning to go to Bambang tomorrow to buy our medical supplies. So far, we only know the price of the sodium chloride since we’ve purchased it there before. We’re hoping to raise at least ₱2,000 so we can buy our supplies in bulk.

Current needs:
• Sodium Chloride (for wound cleaning) – ₱75 per bottle
• Sterile Water (for nebulizer)
• Salbutamol

Food appeal for the stray cats - Deira (Dxb)

Hi everyone,

I'm running very low on food for the 90 stray cats I feed every day. They need around 3 kg of dry food, a few cans of wet food, and, because of the summer heat, I've also been feeding them chicken especially the cats in parking lots where water bowls are not allowed.

At the moment, I only have half a bag of dry food and a few cans of wet food left. I'm also continuing my TNR (had sent 1 female and 4 males on 2nd July).

If you're able to support with food or a small donation, I would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution helps keep these cats fed and hydrated.

feeding and providing shelter for 10-15 stray cats.

Hi everyone,

I'm from Pune, India and for the past two years, my family and I have been caring for a group of stray cats in our neighborhood. We feed them every day, provide shelter during the monsoon, and take care of them whenever they're sick or injured.

There are currently 3 adult female cats, 1 adult tomcat, 3 adolescent cats, and 6 kittens (under 2 months old) that depend on us.

It all started when a few stray cats began visiting our house for food. Last year, two of the female cats became pregnant at the same time and gave birth only a few weeks apart. One delivered her kittens behind our house, while the other later brought hers to us. Both mothers even nursed each other's kittens. We made them a safe space using cardboard boxes, bedsheets, and even cleared a cabinet inside our house with warm bedding so they and their kittens could stay safely.

Sadly, one kitten became critically ill at just two weeks old. I rushed it to the vet, where it was placed in an incubator and treated, but despite our efforts, it didn't survive. Another kitten eventually moved to a nearby neighborhood. The rest have grown into healthy young cats.

Over time, these cats have come to trust us completely. Whenever one of their kittens is seriously ill, the mothers bring it to our house. On one occasion, three tiny kittens were barely responsive when their mother left them with us. We took them to the vet immediately, and thankfully, all three survived and are healthy today.

The cats eat, sleep, and spend most of their time behind our house. My mother does most of the daily cleaning, although I help whenever I can because I don't want all the work to fall on her. We also keep a cat litter tray outside.

The kittens frequently soil their bedding, so we have to replace it every few days. The bedsheets become heavily covered in fur and waste, making them difficult to reuse or wash in our washing machine, so we often have to discard them.

For the past year, we've been feeding them three times a day with a combination of raw chicken and cat food. Some of the cats refuse chicken and will only eat cat food, while one prefers only chicken, so we have to provide both.

I also regularly treat the kittens for eye infections using prescribed eye drops, as many develop crusting around their eyes that can cause them to seal shut if left untreated.

These cats are not pets—we don't keep them confined. They are free to come and go as they please, and a few have naturally moved to other neighborhoods over time. We simply provide them with a safe place, food, and care whenever they need it.

Thank you so much for reading this.

This poor baby showed up on our back porch last night in desperate shape.

Located in Flora, IN. This sweet kitty showed up last night, meowing loudly. We have been in the midst of a heatwave with 95+ degree temps. She is all skin and bones and was covered in bugs. Flies were swarming her eyes. We gave her a small amount of wet food and some water, which she scarfed down. We have 6 pets of our own inside, 2 dogs + 4 cats. We were going to attempt a flea bath so we could set her up in an XL kennel in our guest room but then she started panting and foaming at the mouth.

Worried about a heat stroke, We desperately tried calling every rescue we knew of in the area for help. Even though they’re totally full with cats/kittens and behind on their vet bills, one rescue (Loving Paws Animal Clinic) gave the green light for us to rush her to the closest emergency vet. The vet determined that while she is very emaciated, she is relatively stable given the circumstances. She is about one year old, weighs 3 lbs and is not fixed or chipped. We got her cleaned off and she is resting and gaining strength in our guest room until the rescue’s vet can (hopefully) get her in tomorrow after the holiday.

She is as sweet as can be, a professional biscuit maker. It seems as though she will need some diagnostic testing to see if she has any infections/diseases. We are not sure what we will do with her if the rescue doesn’t have any fosters available as we really don’t have room to keep her long term, but she is safe and cool for now. Here is a link to the rescue’s post about her, which will be updated depending on her medical needs.

We found an urgent plea for this paralyzed kitten on Reddit and rushed to rescue him. 💔 Hit by a vehicle, he is now fighting paralysis, breathing complications, and a hernia. Please pray for this little warrior and help us give him the long-term treatment he desperately needs.

💔 **Another innocent life sh**attered…
Today, we came across a desperate plea for help on Reddit’s [r/Straycats. We couldn’t ignore it.
We urgently rescued this precious little soul, who had been hit by a vehicle and left to suffer alone. The impact left him **paralyzed**, struggling to breathe, and with a **hernia** that requires urgent medical care. Every breath he takes is a fight, and his road to recovery will be long and uncertain.
No kitten should have to endure this much pain. Yet despite everything he has been through, he is still holding on and fighting to live.
He now needs long-term treatment, veterinary care, medication, and lots of love to give him a chance at the life he deserves.
Please keep this brave little warrior in your prayers. If you are able to support his treatment in any way, your kindness could help change his future.
Together, we can show him that not all humans turn away. ❤️🐾

Was hoping he was just pretending to be sick to get in the house

Richmond, VA: this handsome dude showed up at our house back around October or November last year. He obviously belonged to someone at some point, he’s the sweetest boy just looking for pets and food. He fell in love with our TNR girls of our colony and became their little protector so we named him Strider (yeah, I’m a LOTR nerd). He’s been trying to come in the house lately but we were hesitant as we already have a whole crew of former ferals inside (7) and one of our boys is pretty territorial. He has his own climate controlled cathouse on the porch and we made sure he was fed and pet to his little hearts desire, as long as he tolerated it.

Well… 2 weeks ago we hadn’t seen him for a day or so and then he shows up for breakfast super lethargic, looking super skinny, not wanting to eat and just laying around. His normally beautiful coat was oily, and instantly we knew something was wrong. I had to go to work, and my husband called our vet immediately to get him in with our dog for her appointment the next morning, luckily they could squeeze him in. When my husband went to check on him again he was just laying in the woods far behind our house, something he never does, he picked him up and got him secured. Little dude was in bad shape. Fast forward $600 that I scraped together from god knows where, and despite a clear blood panel, he’s got a heart murmur and FIV. F*ck.

So now he’s living in our bathroom, putting on weight little by little, and making sure he yells at me like he runs the damn place every time I go in there. I know I can’t keep him long term, financially (my husband is disabled and I’m just a server) and for the safety of our other cats, but damn do I love him so much. And I feel so guilty not bringing him in sooner because I’m pretty sure I know when he contracted the FIV. We have a nasty tom cat who I can’t catch that tried to go after our colony and he fought them off, we made sure he got taken care of and healed, but I should’ve just figured it out then. Ugh. Sorry for the rant, it’s just been emotional over here lately and the fact that he’s FINALLY eating and improving is just so relieving and I’m so proud of him.

Stray showed up, could he be the same litter as my other stray?

Found in tri cities WA

First image is the guy who came by a few days ago. My other 2 cats were chilling in the morning on our patio and were very interested in him. He seemed cautious but not overly scared and didnt run away even when I was outside/my bf was. He didn't approach until I had the cats come in as my void seemed to want to intimidate him away and my concern was a cat fight. He stayed on the patio for a good hour, sitting on my chairs and even sitting inches from the door peering in. Finally I decided to get him in a carrier and get his chip checked. No chip, and unfixed.

My girl void (2nd pic) was found on the other side of the building almost exactly a year ago in the hood of my car. She was estimated about 3-4 months old and was also unfixed, no chip. Both have the same color, similar face, similar size, and same white spots on chest and low belly (bladder area). Similar temperament too, very sweet to people, good rule followers, very grateful.

Is it possible they are from the same litter? This would make them both about a year and a few months. They don't seem to be super close but it makes sense because they've been separated a year+ now, as well as he is unfixed and more untamed. I find it interesting he was so obsessed with my patio, almost like he smelled familiarity.

Unsure on keeping him as im in an apartment and have 2 cats, as well as a baby on the way but I certainly wont be letting him to roam and am going to try to get him fixed when I can. Good thing is even though we have a 2 cat limit, he looks so similar to our other void to an untrained eye it just looks like the same cat.

An Friendly Interaction With A Stray.

I had a weird moment with a stray kitten last night and I can’t stop thinking about it.

I was in an alley in Chicago and there were a few small stray cats moving through together. Nothing aggressive, just… cautious, doing their own thing. I crouched down and made a soft pspsps sound while they were walking past.

One of them stopped. Looked a tiny bit more mature but they were still young cats. Some were very small.

She looked at me, hesitated for a second, and let out a couple small meows. Then she didn’t run. She just… watched me. Like she was curious. A bit more than the rest.

So I stayed still. Low posture, no reaching, just letting her decide what to do. After a few seconds she started slowly creeping closer. Like full slow-motion, stopping every couple steps to check me out.

Eventually she just sat near me. They all did. But she sat the closest. She literally like loafed 2 feet away from me.

Eventually after just us sitting..I slowly reached out a closed fist.

She sniffed me. Didn’t flinch, didn’t bolt. Then she bumped my hand with her head. Kinda startled me.

After that it kind of escalated in the calmest way possible. She started rubbing around my legs, circling me like I was part of the space she was checking out. At one point she even sat between my legs like it was just the most normal thing in the world. Then she tried to knead on me.

There was a moment where a car passed and the group scattered. I stayed still and she actually came back after, like she wasn’t done checking me out yet.

I didn’t pick her up or even touch her. I just let her do everything at her pace.

Eventually I stood up to leave, and she just sat there watching me walk away. I gave a slow blink and kept going.
Now I’m just wondering if I’ll ever see her again.

Stray Kitten needs help

A small stray kitten showed up a my door one day and i tried to take care of it but the energy of this kitten is too overwhelming for my house hold.

If anyone wants to adapt it, please let me know.

I live in Central Park Society, Lahore.

I don't want to abandon it out in the streets as it is too small ton survive.

Aksaray, Turkey | Rescued this tiny kitten yesterday. Local authorities couldn't help looking for rescue contacts or advice.

Yesterday I found this tiny stray kitten with both eyes severely infected. I couldn't leave her there, so I brought her home, even though I already have three cats.

Today my girlfriend and I took her to a veterinarian. Unfortunately, the vet believes she will most likely lose vision in both eyes. There is still a small chance that one eye can be saved with several weeks of treatment. She's already receiving veterinary care, so I'm not looking for medical advice.

I live in Aksaray, Turkey, and I've already contacted my local municipality and the resources available in my area, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find any support.

At this point, I'm simply trying to learn what options might exist for a kitten like her. If anyone is familiar with reputable rescue organizations, rescue networks, or experienced rescuers in Turkey, I would really appreciate any information or recommendations.

Thank you for taking the time to read her story. ❤️

Friendly street cats needing home Sydney Australia NSW

These boys have been living in marsden park area Sydney NSW and need a home, they have been desexed, but I’m pretty sure the tabby might have some skin issues on his nose. I will happily trap and bring to whoever can provide a loving life for them.

They’re bonded so would prefer if they got to stay together. I would take them myself but the house I live in now doesn’t allow animals and I’m waiting on double hand surgery to move out

I met this cutie today. How old?

I saw the most beautiful cat today with such beautiful pattern.

I felt so sad as she lay there and had no energy. I thought she was sick.

I went to the shop and bought her a couple of packs of wet food. She wolfed them both down she was starving.

Initially I thought she might have been a sick older cat but now I’m thinking she might be a much younger kitten.

I wish I could take her in but I have 3 already.

I will return to feed her, she is such a sweet kitty.

med student now first year resident cant stop saving kitties but needs your help because this is too much for me to do alone !!!

STILL NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!

PLEASE HELP GUYS!!! I can’t charge all this to my credit card and I need to pay it!! I’m paying $800 in daycare for my dogs right now since I’m working like 80 hours/ week a first year resident physician in 428k medical school debt!!
So I don’t have extra money right now!!

DONATION TRACKER

NEEDED: $750

Donated: $90

im back.. remember me? posted the stray mom who had 4 babies in my bathroom fourth year of medical school??

I told myself I wasn't going to foster any strays during residency because it was already so difficult (and expensive) in medical school. I knew residency would be even harder... but somehow, here we are. 🥹

This is kitty #15 in the last 3 years.

I guess technically I didn't officially start residency until July 1, and I found her on June 30, so maybe it doesn't count. 😂

I was staying at an Airbnb 4 hours from home for my sister's celebration when this sweet girl greeted me on the porch begging for love. Her eye was clearly infected, she was missing a front tooth, covered in fleas, and severely malnourished. I immediately went to Walmart for food and flea treatment.

I spent the next two days sitting on the porch with her, and it was obvious she had belonged to someone before. She is one of the friendliest strays I've ever met, and seeing how much love she still had after being abandoned completely broke my heart.

So... I brought her home.

She was perfect during the 4-hour drive, although she did accidentally lock me out of my car before we left and cost me a $104 locksmith bill. 😅

As a brand-new medical school graduate with over $430,000 in student loan debt, who just moved across the country with 2 cats and 2 dogs to start residency, and who hasn't even gotten a paycheck yet, I could really use your help. You all are the only reason I've been able to save so many kitties over the years, and I'm so grateful for your support.

Expenses so far:
• Walmart (food + flea treatment): $50
• Locksmith: $104
• Antibiotic ointment: $30
• Blanket + litter: $8
• Litter scoop + scratcher: $16
• Walmart (food + dewormer): $30

Total spent so far: $238

Still needed:
• Vaccines: $100 to $150
• Spay: About $100
• Vet exam: About $60
• Food and litter: $100 to $200

Total needed : $360 to $510

grand total $750~

I know its a lot but I really want to find her the best home and with small little expenses here and there like I want to get her a blanket and some toys and I really cant do it alone.. please help me guys!!

Thank you for helping me give this sweet girl a second chance. ❤️

can no longer do this alone.

The Conjoined Twins

Here's a couple of stray kitties we care for.

Mama is on the right and her baby Baby Girl is on the left.

Mama is quite small. She seems bigger in the picture than she really is because she's all fluffed out.

It is hard to believe that such a big girl (Baby Girl) could come from such a little Mama.

They would do the cutest thing where they would walk together constantly attached to each other at the face and neck.

That's how much Baby Girl loves her Mama.
