Found next to a store behind a gate at a construction company.

Intake notes mention a large white dog nearby that was panting heavily and had an injured back leg. Arrived at BARC with a litter of nursing puppies and is currently lactating.

📝 Shelter Notes:

7/30/26:

Greeted staff at the kennel door with a low growl and barked when the kennel door was opened. Once leashed, she relaxed and walked calmly on a loose leash to and from the potty yard.

In her kennel, she remained close to her puppies and gave low growls at people passing by.

8/3/26:

While people walked through the kennel row, she barked and jumped on the kennel door. During her morning walk, she greeted staff with a neutral body and walked well on a loose leash to the dog run.

8/4/26:

Responded well to gentle baby talk. Walked on a loose leash toward staff and back to her kennel. Immediately returned to sit beside her puppies.

Currently lactating with puppies.

Received routine intake vaccines and deworming.

7/20/2026: Three dogs (one white and gray, one tan, and one black) were left behind after neighbors moved out of a rental home. Dogs were living in the front yard. Charged caller Friday.

📝 Shelter Notes:

7/24/2026: Super wiggly and jumped against the kennel door. Once opened, she sought affection by rubbing against me, huffing, and licking my hand. Walked with a semi-tight leash to and from the runs.

7/28/2026: Cici greeted me at the front of the kennel, standing on two feet with a wiggly body and wagging tail. Became excited during her walk with happy jumps. Remained calm and quiet in her kennel throughout the day.

8/1/2026: Cici presented very aroused with panting, dilated eyes, jumping on the kennel door, and vocalizing. Difficult to leash due to jumping and would not sit still initially. Walked on a tight forward leash while ignoring treats. Outside she briefly bolted toward another dog she had been focused on, but was quickly leashed and redirected before any fight could occur.

8/2/2026: At the front of her kennel with a wiggly body and jumping as I walked by. While leashing she continued jumping and bit at the leash while wagging her tail. Once leashed she walked with a semi-tight leash to the runs and back.

8/3/2026: Cici greeted me with her front paws on the kennel door, whining with ears back, dilated eyes, and a wiggly body with a wagging tail. She gently took a treat from my hand. Easily leashed and walked loosely while following treats, though otherwise she excitedly reared up and jumped on me. Quietly resting on her bed when passing her kennel later.

7/20/2026: Intake exam normal. Weighed 29.0 lbs. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, flea prevention given, HW test negative.

I’ve been kind of quiet lately. We had some panleuk in the cattery. Thankfully everyone had at least two rounds of FVRCP on board. That being said we still lost 4. I feel like a failure even though I know I did everything right.

In happier news, we also had a couple of adoptions. Two of my Cheese Crew, Gouda and Muenster got adopted together.

All three of my momma cats were successfully spayed along with the big orange tomcat that showed up at the colony I care for.

She is 8 years young and 63 lbs.  Wilma came in as a stray – just about one week ago on 07/22 – and she hasn’t been given much time to get adopted. She is easily leashed, very affectionate and seeks social. It looks like Wilma once had a family and is sad and scared in the shelter. She would do so much better in a home. Wilma has been unable to pair but does co-exist with other dogs. Wilma may have mastitis and needs to be seen by a full-service vet (shelter vet cannot rule out neoplasia). She could share her home with canine siblings if slowly and appropriately introduced. Wilma is adoptable but can also be fostered through a rescue.

Handsome Georgie spent long enough on the streets to become underweight and heartworm positive before some workers found him and got him help. Now he’s sitting in an overcrowded shelter, waiting for someone to notice him.

Hello! I’m not sure exactly where to post this, but I need to get this out there.

A distant relative of mine had this cat named Jordan. She had unstable housing and I ended up fostering him for a few weeks while she figured out her situation. While having him, I realized that he had been very neglected. He is a senior cat (I believe 12 years old) and had severe untreated stomach problems, 4 broken teeth and two ear infections and was in lots of pain.

I have treated him for his issues and he is now healthy, but I do not want him to go back to that family member. I very much want him to find him a good home where he is loved for the remainder of his life. He is a very sweet cat and loves to cuddle. I have 2 other cats and can’t permanently take him.

If you know anyone who is willing to take a senior cat and give him a good and loving home, please let me know. I really want to find him a good home and I don’t want to drop him off at a shelter.

If you know of other resources, subreddits or groups who I can post this to, please let me know!

EDIT: Because this was brought up, so people sre aware - I have spoken to this family member about this situation and they agreed that he would be better going to a good home as they are not able to (and haven’t really for many years) take good care of him. I am also not hoping to easily find a random stranger on here to just hand him off to - if I wanted that then I would have posted on Craigslist lol.

Doj is a brave and gentle puppy who recently arrived at the shelter in urgent need of help. He came in with a cracked rib (#6), a pulmonary contusion on the right side, and multiple bite wounds on his front legs and neck. Despite his painful injuries, Doj has shown a sweet, trusting nature and a strong will to heal.

Because his medical needs are more than the shelter can provide, Doj is currently at risk for euthanasia. He needs a committed rescue, foster, or adopter who can give him the medical care and safe environment he deserves.

7/29:Finder stated that this puppy was found lateral. Lethargic. Thin body condition score 2/9. Dehydration 8-10%. Heart and lungs normal. Offered wet food and ate well. Also drank water. Appears reluctant to walk on hindquarters. Resisted extension of the left rear hip.

DX: Parvo Test=Negative

Sedated with Dexdormitor (.5mg/ml) .4cc IM

DX: Xray (RL & VD View Pelvis and Lumbar spine)=The 6th rib on the right side of thorax is fractured on the VD View with pulmonary contusions on the right side.

Also noted after sedation, multiple puncture wounds to the right front leg and under neck area. Edema noted on the ventral neck area.

TX: Clipped and cleaned wounds

TX: Carprofen (50mg/ml) .5cc SQ

TX: Clindamycin (150mg/ml) .5cc SQ

RX: Carprofen 25mg 1T SID 7 days

RX: Clavamox 62.5mg 1.5T BID 10 days

Reversed sedation with Atipamezole (5mg/ml) .2cc IM

7/30: Recheck to make sure comfortable. Fractured rib on right side with pulmonary contusion. Multiple bite wounds to front legs and under neck area. Was eating and drinking fine on intake on 7/29. FDT was set for 8/2. On clavamox and carprofen.

7/30 - Puppy is QAR but moderately dehydrated. No fluids were Rxed yesterday. Eating canned food. Start on LRS.
