Month 2 update (lipedema/hEDS/CVI)

Hi everyone, here are my updates after month 2 of conservative treatment. I couldn’t replicate the exact angle but I am seeing a signs of progress. My chub rub, for example, I happening higher up on my thigh than before and I have lost .5 inches in overall circumference on my calves and 1 inches on all parts of my thighs.

My overall plan to do three month cycles of giving it my all to support my conditions, with one month breaks where I relax a bit and do a maintenance phase. For example, I’ll relax on the fitness and lower my requirements on classes and steps. It’s really hard to do as many as I am doing, but I’ve been working up to this fitness level over years and I think I’m in a good place.

My motivation behind this is if I can get to a more comfortable place overall long term maintenance will feel easier. I know this may feel a bit intense and overkill, but I have the capacity to do it - so I am. I decided to make health and fitness my main hobby to see if I can find joy in it and become healthier.

Thought I’d share my progress and what I’m doing in case it’s interesting to anyone else!

Earrings too heavy

I found these earrings at the thrift and I think they’re way too heavy for the hook / way that they attach to the earlobe. It’s causing the piercing hole to be pulled down and I’m worried about it stretching out my ears. Any advice for changing out the hanging mechanism? Like, something that would distribute the weight better. Thanks!

What metrics to track to get coverage for lipo?

I know it differs between insurances, but am I tracking the right things in general? I’m waiting to see the specialist

EDS, Lipedema, and CVI?

I just got diagnosed with Chronic Venous insufficiency and am working on the Lipedema and EDS diagnoses right now with a specialist. I am very bendy and my arms, legs, and butt feel like they’re full of rice and tiny nodules.

I’m feeling a little sad about it as I’m pretty young, at least I thought, to be having these issues. I’m curious if anyone else has these three together? I hear they’re common and I wish I had an appointment sooner to ask questions but like, I just don’t even know if solutions exist right now.

I’ve been wearing compression, lifting weights, getting between 5-10k steps daily, use a vibration plate, have pneumatic pressure leg compression sleeves, eating well, sleeping enough, and I haven’t found anything that really helps. I’m going to focus even more on losing weight, but I’ve been thin in the past and still experience very large lower body and arms.

I guess I’m feeling the saddest right now because I learned my more surface level vein valves aren’t working in my right leg. The doctor told me that we can remove them via heat but the problem likely won’t solve. The valves are working in my left leg and I am getting equal swelling between the two. So, he thinks there is something more systemic at play and I’m going to a lipedema / EDS specialist.

I’ve got so many broken blood vessels on my body, bruise easily, any real pressure on my body hurts, just tons of strange and weird problems health wise. I’m really hoping I don’t have the vascular version of EDS and I hope the valves deeper in my legs don’t somehow also give out.

Does anyone have all three of these conditions? What treatments existed for you, both conservative and surgical? How are you, did you recover a high quality of life?

Has anyone had legs that look like mine recover to the way they used to look before all this progressed?
