Embouchure change and double buzz
Recently, I’ve been doing an embouchure change for around 4 months (with help from a private instructor of course), from a very high placement having the tip of my mouthpiece touching my nose, to around a 50/50 or 60/40 placement. Ive noticed that my tone is a lot clearer and stronger than when I used my old embouchure, but I double buzz whenever I try to articulate without legato, which happens mostly around the middle B flat range.
This problem happened when I first started the change but went away for a bit, then re-emerged when I stopped constantly using legato and is a lot worse now.
For background, I am a freshman in high school and I’ve played for ~5 years. I had a range up to an F5 with my old embouchure (same since 7th grade and sounded REALLY strained) and can go up to an A4 (working from E4 when I started) with my new embouchure.
So far, though my tone has improved quite a lot, I’m still demotivated by the double buzz and I’ll appreciate any advice on it.
