PSU noise

Hi guys, got a question regarding my PSU. It is a few years old, a Corsair TX750, and very sporadically it seems to make an almost grinding noise. This was infrequent enough for me to not particularly care, but yesterday it was doing it solidly for a good 30 minutes or so. No change in performance on the PC, but it was a very noticeable noise.

I turned the PC off for a couple of hours, then turned it back on and streamed video games for a good 5 hours or so, and the PSU was making no noise at all.

Today I have tried to recreate the fault but I can't. I have been advised by a few people that this is probably the PSU fan, as the PSU fan will only spin up when under load, which is why it was not a constant noise, but I have hit my computer with 50 browser tabs, OBS, and two high performance video games at once plus a benchmark software all simultaneously to see if I can prompt the PSU fan to spin up, and as far as I can tell it is not. Or, at least, if it is there is no noise as there was yesterday. My GPU and CPU monitors tell me they are running at 95-100% load when I do this, but still no noise from the PSU.

I have already purchased a replacement PSU, but I would prefer not to go through the trouble of installing it until I KNOW that the current one is faulty.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do to confirm the fault? Thanks.
