Would this work to get a wired connection?
Okay needing some help before I spent money. Hopefully this will make sense.
I live on top of a business. They have a modem downstairs and supply me Wifi.
I need a wired connection for a remote job.
I can’t use a wifi pod with an Ethernet port because it required apps for the landlord to use and he’s just not going to download the app.
He also doesn’t want to put the modem in bridge mode for an external router.
Here’s the set up.
Modem downstairs with an Ethernet cable coming up through a hole in the floor which leads to a wifi extender. This device has one Ethernet port only ( to connect down to the modem).
So would I be able to get an Ethernet splitter adapter with extra ports and take the Ethernet that’s running from the modem downstairs, plug it into an Ethernet port in the Ethernet adapter and plug the adapter into the wifi extender and is still get wifi?
As well as be able to use one of the other Ethernet ports and connect to my laptop?
Example of what I’m saying :
Modem —> Ethernet cable —> adapter —> wifi extender
( and then) laptop —> ethernet cable—> additional adapter port
Pic of the adapter.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
