What is the difference between FTA0 vs FTA1
I have applied for i-130 and I-485, married to a USC. We had our interview last Monday (May 11,2026). During the interview, the visa officer told us that she’s gonna approve us and we would see an update in a day or two. After the interview immediately we got two 2 emails saying “ we have taken action on your case”, for these two emails on the API we see FTA1. I got another same email on the same day and that added one more FTA1 on my i-485. Our i-130 was approve the next day (May 12, 2026). But my i-485 is still in FTA1 and says “ your case is actively being reviewed by USCIS”.
I read in a few post here, which say FTA1 means a black hole, which likely means longer processing, while other posts and Gemini say that FTA1 means a good sign and the case is in its final phase awaiting supervisory approval. I also read a few posts in which some people got a FTA0 and the very next day their case was approved.
Can someone please explain me the difference between FTA0 and FTA1.
