TPA3116 speaker protection board

I made an anti-pop board for TPA3116 class D amps powered from 24V DC. The circuit delays the connection of the speakers when the amp is turned on and disconnects them quickly when turning off.

The anti-pop board is connected to an AC relay wired to the main power switch, so the speaker relay disconnects before the amplifier power rails fully collapse.

I know this is kind of an old-fashioned speaker protection approach, so I’m wondering how many people here just use the MUTE pins on TPA3116 boards instead. Does MUTE actually eliminate turn-off pops when you don’t have AC and use an external DC power supply?
