Hatsu: Biohazard
Hatsu: Biohazard
Transmuter
Name: Cael Kane
Nen Type: Transmuter
Subtypes: Enhancer
Hatsu: Biohazard
Physical Description: 6'5", broad shouldered and physically imposing without being excessively muscular. Cael has dark hair, a beard, glasses and multiple tattoos covering large portions of his body. He wears 9 piercings across both ears, including a large gauge expander. Despite his intimidating appearance, his demeanor is calm, analytical and unsettlingly composed even under pressure.
Hatsu Description: Biohazard allows Cael to transmute his aura by giving it the radioactive properties of enriched uranium. Rather than functioning as an explosive or destructive ability, Biohazard specializes in contamination, progressive deterioration, aura destabilization and close-range pressure through direct contact.
To avoid contaminating himself, Cael must constantly maintain Ken over his body while Biohazard is active.
Toxic Fist: The base form of Biohazard. Cael transmutes the aura of a single hand, contaminating everything he touches. The contamination progressively weakens tissue, destabilizes aura flow and reduces defensive efficiency over time. Even brief contact leaves residual contamination.
The first 3 seconds of activation are considered safe due to Cael’s Ken protecting him from his own contamination. After the 4th second, the contamination begins affecting Cael himself. The absolute continuous usage limit of this ability is 12 seconds. Reaching this limit forces Cael into Zetsu for 3 days while his Nen purges the accumulated contamination and repairs internal damage.
If Toxic Fist is deactivated after exceeding the safe 3-second window:
- residual contamination remains inside Cael’s body,
- causing future activations to continue from the previously accumulated time.
Using Toxic Fist only within the safe 3-second window leaves no residual contamination.
Purge: A voluntary Zetsu state used to completely purge residual contamination accumulated from Biohazard before reaching critical levels. During Purge, Cael willingly suppresses his aura flow, allowing his Nen to stabilize his body and eliminate remaining contamination. The duration of Purge depends entirely on the amount of accumulated toxicity.
Overload: Cael activates Toxic Fist in both hands simultaneously. This massively increases contamination pressure and deterioration output, forcing opponents to defend multiple points of contact at once.
Unlike Toxic Fist, Overload has no safe activation window. Self-intoxication begins immediately after activation.
Overload can only be maintained for 3 seconds. After use, Cael is inevitably forced into Zetsu for 3 days while his Nen purges the accumulated contamination.
Decay: Biohazard’s final and most self-destructive state. Cael activates Decay by piercing his own body with his contaminated hands, directly exposing his blood, organs and aura flow to the radioactive contamination.
At this stage, the contamination ceases being progressive.
Everything Cael touches begins deteriorating instantly from the exact point of contact. Targets lacking sufficient Nen defense immediately lose the affected area, while experienced Nen users must concentrate overwhelming aura output precisely at the point of contact to resist the deterioration.
Decay can only be maintained for 1 minute. Every second exponentially accelerates Cael’s own internal destruction. After Decay ends, Cael is forced into Zetsu for 1 month while his Nen purges the remaining contamination and stabilizes his body.
The contamination generated by Decay causes irreversible and permanent damage in all areas of Cael’s body affected by necrosis resulting from the toxicity.
OP Notes: I wanted Biohazard to feel less like a “nuke ability” and more like a contamination management system built around close-range pressure, self-destruction and tactical risk management. The idea was creating a Transmuter Hatsu that becomes more dangerous the longer a fight continues, while forcing the user to constantly manage their own contamination levels in order to survive their own ability.
