what to do next?

hello all!
just wanted to share my experiences thus far and see if anyone has any advice on what to do next, I feel exhausted of all options at the moment and I just have generally bad luck with doctors. (Also just a cheeky vent cause no one I know really understands)

I’ve always known that something wasn’t quite right, any sort of insertion would sting and be excruciatingly painful. I always just thought I’d grow out of it or it would go away.

I was then due my first cervical screening, which I had put off for a year because I knew it wouldn’t be successful and would hurt! However after plucking up the courage to attend my first appointment, as suspected I couldn’t have even the smallest speculum inserted more than half an inch without shooting off the chair. We attempted a few times cause I really wanted to prove to myself I could do it. I felt sick after the appointment then had persistent pain for at least another week.
Other than the failed attempt, the appointment was very relaxed and not that scary (if anyone is yet to book one in, do it even if it fails!)

The nurse said to me then, she suspected vaginismus, which she said to me “I assume you’ve heard of this before?” Which of course I had my suspicions! I then had a phone call the next day and was diagnosed over the phone, and have been on an 8 month waitlist for psychosexual therapy. Which just keeps getting postponed..

I was thinking to myself, should I ask for another physical exam from someone? Just to be sure? I think cause I’ve been waiting so long it feels like nothing is going to fix this, longer time goes on the more I’m worried about not being able to complete a cervical screening either.
This thought has been prompted when I had a voicemail this morning from the doctors saying “you need to book in your cervical screening” , clearly they haven’t read my files or I am just a JOKE to them haha. Even tempted to call back and complain, every experience is just a slap in the face at the minute!

I’m sure it will come but progress feels so far away and I don’t see what else I can do!
also I love the NHS, but it does not love me.

Hope u are all well and surviving the current heat wave! (Europe side of the globe speaking)
Thanks 4 letting me vent Reddit

Have I been conned?

Hiii car talk uk gang , just looking for some advice on what my next steps should be in this situation..

(Apologies if this is an exhaustive subject here lol, but I am lost)

My 24 year old fiat seicento broke down yesterday (shocker!) , when the clutch went ‘ping’ and went straight to the floor. I was recovered by breakdown service and brought my car to a garage recommended to me for repairs, to sort out today.

A check was conducted for me then and there, when I arrived back at the garage this morning, and it was identified that the clutch cable needed replacing, I was quoted £150 and told works would be completed by tomorrow, happy days.

I get a phone call in the late afternoon saying that they were able to get the parts sooner and repairs had been completed. And that the ‘cable had been replaced and the back brakes had been changed’ and that I now owe them £427.

I did not ask for any work to be completed on the brakes, nor did any work need doing - it passed its MOT the previous week with no advisories RE brakes.

I’m a little stumped on what my next steps should be to challenge this. My first guess is a lil presumptuous, that I’ve been taken advantage of.. (I’m a girl)

Should I ask them for proof of works? IE show me them shiney new £400 brakes please. Or just straight up refuse the payments and get them to put the old brakes back on and just pay for the work I asked for?

If anyone has any advice on how I can catch them out it would be greatly appreciated.

Ultimately they conducted works beyond what was asked for and they did not contact me for consent to conduct further work before doing so. :/

Cheers :)!
