Pioneer Pro-Fhd1 repair
The TV, about 6 months ago, upon on powering on went into an eight blink blue led cycle. According to posters on my prior thread the solution was to replace the AVW2292 main board.
I went down the rabbit hole reading different posts online and YouTube videos of which none pertain to my exact model but using AI tools etc I came upon that I need to replace the voltage regulator. I bought the part and then I never got it done.
Fast forward to today I plug it back in for the first time in months, try to turn it on and now does absolutely nothing. No blue LED no red standby LED nothing.
I took off the back cover, reviewed the schematics for my main boars and found it doesn't have that part that I bought off eBay months ago (NJM2846DL3-18).
I scoured the web and cannot find anything about this particular model for repairing 8 blinks. I attempted to follow the troubleshooting guide I found in the service manual but made no real headway.
The most I was able to determine was that there is a test point on the power supply board and I confirmed that it gets 3.3 volts while on standby. And I confirmed the harness that delivers power to the main board gets 3.3 volts at the end of the harness. I fed all this into AI including the schematics and it was leading me to believe that it could be a failure of one of the microscopic capacitors on the board. I tested a few the ones that it suggested and found continuity across them which it claims means they're shorted (essentially my meter beeped, assuming I even phrased it right). It's suggestion was to replace them but there's no way I could do that.
At this point I'm guessing the unit is toast unless anyone has any ideas on how I can fix it. I'm a hobbyist all I have is a soldering iron I can't do any micro repairs. I looked online and it looks like there are no boards available anywhere for sale.
I mostly wanted to fix it purely because it's cool.
Any ideas?
At this point I will most likely ewaste it. I am considering taking it fully apart to maybe list the various boards on eBay and hopes someone can make use of them.
To note as well I am well aware I can just get another one cheap there are a ton local to me in San Diego. In fact I got this TV free. But the condition is quite mint which is why I hesitate getting rid of it.
