I am being told by friends to keep a japa maid for the initial period after the baby is born. I am really not comfortable having another person handle my baby in the early days, especially from hygiene and unscientific practices point of view.

My questions to moms-

1. Is it really necessary to have a Japa maid? My husband and mom can support me during the initial period.
2. What are the tasks assigned to Japa maids?
3. How many months did you need the Japa maid?
