I want to get into whiskey but am struggling. I have got to love wine and most beer styles but have struggled with whisky. The strong burn overpowers other flavor notes but I can still get a hint of them. I have tried cocktails like the old fashioned & Manhattan but those are still too strong. I am starting with Irish whisky and can’t tolerate it. I want to get into bourbons like WR Double Oaked. Should I mix it with Coke or add water?
