Overall this was a very enjoyable build and I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. This was my first attempt to do a natural metal finish using acrylics and, paired with some Vallejo gloss black primer, the Mig Ammo ATOM metallics did a nice job. I was also very pleased with the olive drab areas, and the wavy line was created using masking putty which was a first for me and I was delighted that it all came out so cleanly.

An attempt was made to fill the panel lines on the wings, and I will leave it to the reader's judgement as to how well that went. I also attempted to remove the carrier film from the decals using a couple of methods found online. The first try, on the underside national marking, was more or less successful. However, when I tried repeating that on the other wing marking the film refused to budge and I realised that the application of nothing more than cold water was actually washing the gloss varnish off! This has led me to switch from Ammo Lucky varnish (which I was never all that happy with) to VMS HD varnish which has gone on much better.

Principal paintwork is now complete and overall I'm very happy with the results. There are a few touch ups needed here and there, but for the most part the masking worked extremely well.

Oh and if anyone is wondering, that's a sacrificial canopy that's on there purely to protect the cockpit. The canopy I'll actually use is safely tucked away, ready to be put in place right at the end.
