Disappointed with Cloud III Wired on Lenovo LOQ: Stuck at 16-bit/48kHz (DVD Quality) due to Generic Driver limitation
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased the HyperX Cloud III Wired headset, feeling very optimistic about getting the advertised excellent sound and microphone quality. However, I was shocked to find out that I cannot change the microphone sample rate to 32kHz, and the headphone is locked at 48kHz (DVD Quality) instead of the 24-bit/96kHz (Studio Quality) that it’s supposed to support.
Both the headset and mic are restricted to a single option: 16-bit / 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) because Windows is forcing it to run on a Generic USB Audio driver.
I’ve tried troubleshooting this, but it’s been really frustrating. For reference, my laptop is a Lenovo LOQ equipped with an RTX 5060 and an AMD Ryzen 7 processor.
If anyone has faced this issue on a Lenovo laptop or knows a workaround to unlock the Studio Quality, I would highly appreciate your help. I'm really disappointed with how the software/driver setup is limiting this great hardware.
Thank you!
