for your breed-specific enjoyment and consideration, I present my 1/2 bloodhound, 1/4 lab, 1/4 catahoula sisters. I’ve had Willa (95 lbs) since puppyhood from a family with an accidental litter. I found her sister Emmie (75 lbs) on Craigslist in October and added her to the pack. I also have a wolfhound lab mix from Hawaii who is their elderly mentor and critic.

edited to add: these girls have made me bloodhound loyalists for life. they have so much personality and bring such joy and humor to my life. they’re a handful and exhausting, but I am forever changed as a bloodhound owner 🥰

for any and all who see this, I am here to say I am rooting so hard for Iran in the world cup and many of my Californians are right there with me. our governments might suck but I am so inspired watching the Iranian team and people persevere through horrible adversity to be here, from war conditions we’re imposing abroad to the challenges we’ve made the team face to play on US soil. I have seen the kindness and hospitality our Mexican neighbors are showing Iranian players and fans and hope it is clear that many (most) of us would welcome you in the same way in the US if we had the opportunity. Good luck to the Iranian team, or as we would say in English, “godspeed!” 🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷
