At the risk of sounding nit-picky, I’m annoyed by some of the plot holes and missed opportunities in the show. For example, in the last episode, Paula receives a paper invitation to Becka’s wedding shower. In both the books, Atwood makes it very very very clear that women are NOT allowed to read and therefore cannot be shown written words. In the book, the Aunts go door to door to verbally relay the invites, since it would be difficult to express a date and time with pictures. It would also be forbidden for a bride or her mother to use a pen and paper.
That’s one example, but little things like that seem to be thrown out the window for this show and it’s annoying.
