Too many coincidences

Hi all. Ive been aware of the simulation theory since i was a kid. Im 21 now and over the past 5 years, last 3 to be ultra specific, i keep having these coincidences that just seem too unreal to not be simulated. Curious if anyone else has experienced this.

For an example, last year, one of my friends who i will call sam, just out of random starting talking about Alvin and the chipmunks. The cartoon, not the movies. Later that very same day, my boyfriend started talking about the alvin and the chipmunks cartoon as well. My boyfriend and Sam have never interacted, so i was really bugged out that they both brought up the same thing out of nowhere, as its not like alvin and the chipmunks is very popular these days. Boyfriend also had 0 clue i had that convo with sam.

Ive had MULTIPLE experiences like this. I talk about (insert niche subject) with somebody, and someone else later that day or week, who has 0 clue that i talked about (insert niche subject) earlier, gets brought up. Ive had this happen a lot especially in the last 3 years.

Ive had it happen with conversations about co-sleeping, about a niche game called .hack, an EDM group called shamen, a certain brand of shoes, etc. it keeps happening. These experiences have really led me to believe we are in a simulation, because how does this keep happening?? It cannot just be random. It feels as if people around me know that ive had conversations about whatever it is im talking about. Just extremely weird.

Has anybody else experienced this string of coincidences?

Advice for my first week on zoloft

Hello! I (21F) recently started 25mg of zoloft 4 days ago. I know it is a bit soon and of course placebo effects and such, but i am dealing with a few side effects and some experiences. Could use some insight..

I was diagnosed with severe major depression last year, tried Lexapro and had such a horrible time with it i stopped taking it all together after 5 months. Extreme nausea, 40+ pound weight gain, unable to wake up on it (was sleeping thru alarms, up to 18 hours of sleep was common). It was a terrible first impression to antidepressants. I switched to celexa but had similar issues and gave up meds. PCP at the time was also not very knowledgeable on depression. I tried sorting it out myself with lifestyle changes but some life changes out of my control recently made it apparent i needed help.

Earlier this week i got on with a new PCP and i was also screened for GAD. Was diagnosed with mild anxiety. Doctor recommended zoloft as it treats depression and anxiety. She also mentioned it was a bit more 'weight neutral' and more stimulating as opposed to lexapro and celexa.

My 1st dose had me extremely wired. I didn't sleep the night prior and fully expected myself to conk out. Zoloft did keep me up for about 2hrs after i laid down for the night. My last few doses were the same. Its like a jolt of energy. I am considering taking it in the morning now and wanted to know if this will possibly subside?

Accompanying this has also been VERY vivid dreams. Almost beyond lucid, which has been unnerving but hasnt seemed to of affected my sleep quality.

Ive never had any issues with sleep pertaining to insomnia, quite the opposite, so its been a little hard not being able to go right to bed.

When i wake up, i have mild tremors in my hands. Ive woken up with shaky hands since my 1st dose. It doesnt seem to interfere with anything, i work with my hands a lot, but wasnt expecting this side effect.

Ive also lost the desire to smoke any form of nicotine which has been a positive for me so far. It was around my 2nd dose that i got this particular ick after hitting my vape that ive never had before. It just felt extremely wrong, and meaningless. I threw my vape out and havent felt any urges to smoke since. This is something I'm really hoping lingers, or is at least a catalyst to stopping altogether, as ive never even had the courage to toss one out in the first place.

Ive noticed a significant decrease in appetite as of a couple days ago, which is a huge plus for me considering Lexapro only exacerbated cravings as well as weight gain.

So far i can definitely say I'm having an easier beginning to this med as opposed to lexapro, which i recall having an extremely hard 1st week with (and in general, months). Nausea being the biggest side effect with lex.

I don't feel as much mental effects yet as i do physical. I feel very relaxed in the body, almost fizzy at times. I have noticed my anxious looping thought process has dulled a bit, but i know I just need a LOT more time to adjust. So far it is feeling like Zoloft is a better fit for me, as the stimulating factor is exactly what i was looking for in an antidepressant/antianxiety

I would love to know what to expect in the future, as this 1st week passes, all experiences with this med would really help me. Advice for some of the side effects listed above would be a great help as well.

Thank you !
