I’m building a gnome merchant named Dubo who lost his family shop due to his uncles debt that forces him into life as a traveling merchant.

He eventually come into possession of a mysterious gemstone containing a lesser deity (?), and after nearly dying, it embeds in his head and grants power in exchange for adventure.

Mechanically, I want to be primarily martial (spear or unarmed), with out of combat utility, focused on battlefield control and getting to do many things per turn, while also being a charismatic merchant.

My party members are a glamour bard and zealot barbarian.

Right now I’m choosing between a hex blade warlock or an echo knight
