I was wondering if anyone participated and would like to discuss their experience during FRPG Day.

I know I know don't feed trolls. But I went from excited to slight concern reading this users thoughts. Seems to always happen lol.. What are your thoughts on his points?

Video: DnD vs Legend in the Mist TTRPG? With Dungeon Dad
Comment: "The official Legends of the Mist rules videos makes the game look so abysmally bad, I can't take anyone seriously when they're shilling it. The video on the action system goes like this. One of the players has to roll just to throw an apple 5ft away. It's explicitly stated that the player throws the apple to figure out what's inside a bush. Even though the player fails his role completely, he still finds out what's inside the bush.

The game as they officially YouTube channel describes it, just seems to be full of time-wasting nonsense rolls. It's stated that characters are supposed to roll to run, and even when rolls are failed, what they player want can still happen. What even roll then? The player succeeds their roll to run from one open space to another. Despite succeeding, the narrator describes the player as "ignoring the threat" even though he explicitly used his action to block one of the NPCs from the threat. Because he "ignored the threat," the DM punishes the player by making the enemy attack him. Even with things that aren't hard-written into the rules, it's clear that the writers have no understanding of basic game designing and DM etiquette.

The status system in place of HP is a bloated mechanic that requires more record-keeping and yet is more restrictive than traditional status and HP systems. The writer of the video, and I assume the books doesn't even understand basic concepts in their own narrative. A character has two traits, "Protector of the Dales," and "Aspiring Heroes." If he's actively already a protector of an area, wouldn't that make him already a hero? If he's already a hero, why would he also be tagged as an aspiring hero simultaneously? They lack fundamental understanding of game design and the English language itself. EVERYTHING also comes down to DM fiat. IT's stated that you have to get the DM's permission to spend your resources just to heal statuses."
