This shit with the TEA sucks so fucking badly. One thing I’ve come across a few times is that in Houston, non-NES schools with really strong PTA’s seem to be surviving the takeover OK. Are there any north-central elementary schools that have stronger than normal PTA’s?
Driving from SB to OC on a random Monday in September and have a few hours to do something fun. Any suggestions for a museum or gallery that’s open on a Monday? I usually lean contemporary but am down for whatever. Wanting to make the most of the rare no kids, family, or work time.

The thought of the state taking over AISD is terrifying. I’ve heard that in both Fort Worth and Houston, schools with very strong PTA’s (and the means to support them) have been able to mitigate some of the worst of it. Does anyone know if that’s true?
Am I understanding it correctly that kids won’t have PE every day anymore?
