[A4F] [GM4F] Sci-Fi plots inspired by Project Hail Mary, Voices of the Void, Rimworld, and other masterpieces of the genre
Hey there! You can call me Barley or Cere. I’m a sci-fi fanatic who’s a sucker unique takes on both hard sci-fi and near fantasy stuff. I’m looking to tell a story about curiosity, research, and friendship / daily life drama between a human (or maybe not!) scientist and a number of different alien beings. These “aliens” could be anything from eccentric artificial super-intelligences, to friendly little rock creatures, or maybe even the classic space opera style “humans but with pointy ears.” There could be romance, action, violence or tragedy— Whatever the direction we decide to take I’m just eager to write.
While many of these ideas are based off of media I’ve consumed recently or in the past, it is not a requisite that you are familiar with them— Only that you are enthusiastic about the genre and just as interested in worldbuilding as I am.
As a roleplayer, I’m looking for my partner to meet the following requirements at a -minimum-. We could go far above these baselines, or hover around them, but if you cannot hit them at all we are not suited to write together
-Writes at least one paragraph per post / message (that paragraph being at /least/ the length of the first paragraph of this post)
-Writes with a college level understanding of English (few or infrequent spelling / grammar mistakes, proper punctuation, avoiding repetition of specific adjectives / nouns unless it is purposeful)
-Is over the age of eighteen and has graduated highschool
This all might seem like a bit much to ask, and I know beggars can’t be choosers, but I spend a great deal of time setting up my plots and it is always frustrating to only find out when I start writing that my partner is not able to meet my standards. If you’re unsure whether or not you do yourself, try and include a writing sample and some info when you reach out, as it makes the work of assessing whether or not someone is a good fit a lot easier.
All that being said, roleplaying is fundamentally a hobby, and I’m looking to write /with/ someone, not /at/ someone. Bring your own ideas, your own OCs, concepts you’ve been dying to try for a long time. I want to hear it! If you’ve read this far, make sure to send your favorite piece of Sci-Fi media as the first line of your message.
I hope to hear from you soon!
