Understanding Paralives

I’m not part of the team nor have I worked hands on with any of the team members but as Paralives is getting closer (only about 5 days away~) I just want to reiterate this.

I know calling Paralives the “sims killer” has died down but I do know some people are still calling it that’s. With that being said I’m going to rant a bit, if you don’t want to read all of this I’ll do a tldr at the end.

It’s amazing and wonderful how excited people are to play Paralives (I’ve been following for a few years which I know a lot have been following since it was in early early development)! This is amazing and I bet makes the dev team more motivated to make the game!

Let’s talk expectations: yes the dev team already told us what to expect but I’m going to state this again. It’s not going to have nearly as much content as all the sims game we have right now. And I don’t mean like oh missing this and that. I mean probably less then 90% of what we have from sims right now is how much Paralives would have.

In order to understand this further: the original sims came out in 2003? I believe (Before I was born - I’m almost 20). The team for the original game not only was developed in a large gaming studio already… but was made by a team of 50 people. Now it’s been 23 years roughly, in those 23 years we have gotten up to sims 4. 23 years of development, 23 years of experience the team substantially increasing (thousands plus people). So they can get a lot done in a week compared to a smaller team like for example Paralives.

Paralives started with one person: Alex Massé (I think I spelled that right??) back in 2019. For around 3 years it was mainly him, by the 3 year mark he had maybe 10 employees. By this year he still only has 15 workers. Now that alone, is insane. It’s crazy how they made practically 3 games in one.

So while I am so for all of this support in excitement let’s not call it a sims killer, at least just yet. I feel it adds so much pressure to the developers and is creating this crazy expectation for the players, in an early access game.

Thank you for listening to this rant - sorry it’s so long. I’m not expecting anyone to read it fully.

TL:DR- Paralives has a team of only 15 while sims has a team of thousands. Let’s not call it “The Sims Killer” at least yet.

Cobblemon VS Pixelmon

I know this has been an argument for ages…. And I’m unsure if it’s still going on but I wanted to add my opinion.

The ones who like pixelmon, I think are stuck in the nostalgia of it. Even though, there’s a lot of… uh questionable decisions that have been made (stealing models from the actual games and so forth)

However Cobblemon is in my opinion TRULY the best Minecraft integrated one. It’s 100x more immersive then pixelmon, with actual animations for the attacks with more coming. The pixel art creation for the pokemon. I could go on and on and on for ever.

Usually I get bored of pixelmon after a few days… but in Cobblemon it’s literally been over a month.
Sure I’m not as Obsessed but I’m on a hunt for all the berries still! Mutating all of them! Building up my Team! Catching all the legendaries and starters. I cannot stop thinking about it!

Thank you for listening/reading!

Let me know your points on it! Especially if you prefer pixelmon (I theorize it might be a bit bias here… *cough cough* subreddit name *cough cough*

How to Shut of AI Assistant?

I looked at the mega thread and couldn’t find it, so apologies if i missed the fix.

I am trying to watch pokemon (obviously), using my dvd player. I don’t believe we have a remote for the tv as it’s mainly a fire stick tv. Also when I tried to click it did pop up: saying I needed to connect to the internet. Which the TV should be connected to, when I clicked on it to add it to the WiFi it just shut it down and didn’t let me.

It’s driving me insane, idk the model of this tv just that it’s 2 years old and is a 4K TV
