Advice for breaking into this career?
I'm in Southern CA and interested in becoming a stationary engineer, but I don't have any relevant experience (yet). Working on starting to take some classes and certifications but was wondering, workwise, what would be the best way to start this path now? The local unions aren't taking applications right now to start an apprenticeship. There are a couple of places near me that are willing to take on electrician apprentices and hvac apprentices. Should I take one of those jobs while I work on schooling, or not work and focus on schooling and certifications until union apprenticeship applications open up again? Or should I look at other jobs?
Appreciate any help I can get
