Do I really have to list all my previous jobs

I’m applying for a CUNY position I got a conditional offer for. For both the cuny onboarding paperwork and service test I’m putting the same 4 jobs I had on my resume. I just used 4 to keep my resume one page but I really had 8 jobs since college. 3 of which were short stints like 5 months and a job I was at for one year.

What jobs/careers intersect with Stationary Engineering?

As in, if you were to move to a place where stationary engineer careers, in name, are limited, then what careers could you apply for instead?

Local 39 SF Bay Area Apprenticeship Exam - Calculators Allowed?

Hi,

Hopefully this is a simple question that someone can answer.

Are calculators permitted for the Local 39 apprenticeship exam in San Francisco? I'm taking the test in June and have not yet received a clear answer from the union rep or anyone who has taken the local test recently.

Thanks in advance!

How safe is it for a new apprentice during recessionary periods?

Hey hopeful to be a new apprentice, I know it’s hard to say, but on the bleak news constantly being said on the economy how safe is it for new apprentices looking for work in NYC?

Data Center

Hey all, I’ve been a stationary engineer in a museum for about year now and just got offered a position in a data center. Does anyone have any experience with being a SE in a data center or critical facility like a data center? Just looking to get some insight on growth, future and opportunities?

Career/help

Hey everyone, I’m based in Philadelphia and looking to transition into the stationary engineer field. I currently have about 3 years of plant mechanic experience, mainly industrial/mechanical work, troubleshooting, repairs, and working around equipment. I’d still consider myself more mid-level because I honestly haven’t had the opportunity to be properly mentored or fully trained by experienced engineers.
I recently got my Grade A Engineering License and I’m trying to change paths and get into a role where I can continue learning and grow long term in the field. I’m motivated, willing to learn, and not afraid of hard work — I just need the opportunity and guidance to get my foot fully in the door.
If anyone has advice, knows companies hiring in the Philly area, or has recommendations on how to break further into the field, I’d really appreciate it.

I need advice

I’m 33 years old with a 2 year old son and wife. I currently have a trucking company operating in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s pretty small and it’s been slow for the past year and half. It consists of long hours to keep equipment going and high stress between dealing with customers, drivers and breakdowns. The main reason I’m here is cause I currently have an opportunity to possibly start as an apprentice with local 30 in NYC. I got the application, I did the aptitude test, I got the interview coming up next. I know in the long run the local 30 is way better it’s just getting through the first few years of the struggle to the higher pay. If this was just me it’s a no brainer, what makes me nervous is putting my wife and son through those years before hitting a point to being able to provide for us comfortably. Most of my family lives in New York, I’m also originally from there moved to Atlanta 8 years ago. My wife doesn’t want to leave cause her parents are older and scared something will happen to them, plus leaving a life we built to start over a new I think terrifies her also. Any sort of guidance is appreciated.

Questions about shifts

Graduating my training program around June/July and getting my high pressure black seal license
I wanted to know if most people starting off work 12 hour shifts or if 8 hour shifts are available and I can do per deim work or make my own schedule as contractor or even travel work
