Nicki Minaj and Her Pink Pen
My latest, in which I attempt to establish Nicki Minaj as an artist in her own right as well as a messy human being like her fans i.e. me. The fact is though that she’s not respected as an artist and even the Barbz (Nicki’s superfans) can be complicit, saying a lot about how female artists in general are typecast, including as “Mothers,” to the detriment of wider respect for their craft.
