I use a pc but have recently switched to earphones rather than using headsets, as they feel more comfortable to use.

I bought a Y-Splitter Cable so it can be plugged in to the mic and sound port. It worked fine the first time but I realized the mic was “grounded” so I unplugged it and plugged it back in again.

Now both wont work and It wont read both the mic and wont produce sound. What can be the problem?
