Hey I need some advice , so we recently adopted a half year old puppy. Before us, she spent 3 months with a foster parent and she potty and crate trained her. We had no problems in the first two days, she slept in the crate with the doors open , we didn’t hear her voice at all .

The problem is :yesterday we had to leave her for 1-2 hours and decided that it’s safer to lock her in the crate, cause she is used to that, it will provide her safety etc. When I left she started whining and barking so loud I was shocked and when my partner arrived home she was free in the living room, she escaped somehow.

So my question is , is my crate training ruined? Now she doesn’t want to sleep in her crate and not goes in there voluntarily.

Should I start again training her again from the first step? Her foster said that she never heard her bark or whine in the crate , what did I do wrong ? I thought I was thoughtful, she did pee/poo before going in there , she was tired , I gave her treats and toys so she can stay busy. I’m a little bit desperate so any advice is welcomed
