Feeling dumbbell exercises exercises in forearms but not target muscles?

Hello! I've made posts on this subreddit before and everyone here has been very helpful.

Important context: I do not have access to a gym and the only dumbbells I own are 2x 2kg and 1x5kg.

I wanted to try dumbbell exercises first because I'm so weak I struggle with wall pushups.

I did my first upper body dumbbell workout today and I used very small weights (2kg) and I mostly/only felt the exercises in my forearms, wrists and fingers rather than the intended muscles.

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

Body recomp with calisthenics and YouTube?

Hello everyone! I'm very new to the fitness world (I started working out again only last week).

I've been seeing all over that body recomp is the best way to approach fitness as a newbie trying to lose weight.

My problem is that I can't afford a gym membership or any training gear/equipment. I have 2 2kg(I think?) weights and one resistance band but that's it.

And this might be a silly question but: can I do body recomposition using beginner calisthenics and YouTube videos for cardio and strength work?

I have found some creators that seem great and I like their workouts enough to stick to them (hybrid calisthenics, growwithjo, madfit etc.).

I really like the mantra "the best workout is the one you can do consistently" and I like these enough to stick to them but I'm not sure if it aligns with the whole body recomp thing?

I also feel like I have to state I'm very out of shape. My legs are stronger because I walk a LOT (minimum 10k steps a day) but my arms are soooo weak, resulting in me barely being able to do wall push ups. I'm 19 years old 170cm in height and 96kg in weight and I'm now trying to eat healthier, get in more protein and fiber.

I will appreciate any advice, thank you so much 🙏

Dramas that arent too romance heavy

I'm looking for K-dramas like Bad and crazy, Bon Appetit your Majesty or When the phone rings.

Hello! Im a picky newbie looking for kdramas.

Im not a big fan of heavy soapy romance or the typical korean soapyness. I prefer action, mystery, thriller, fantasy with a side of romance

I really enjoyed bad and crazy, Bon Appetit your majesty (even tho its romance heavy the female mc is not very focused on that) and when the phone rings (again heavy romance but theres a lot of action going on - i also love a man being pathetic and smitten for a woman).

I also ABSOLUTELY LOVE AND ADORE time travel, alternative universes, sometimes historical stuff etc.

I also dont mind if the drama isnt korean or if its LGBTQ+!

Other kdramas ive watched and if ive liked them:

  • Business Proposal - i liked it, its a cute classic.
  • Marry My husband - love love loved the time travel concept and the general revenge.
  • Extraordinary attorney woo - Havent finished it yet but i love the plot and the characters
  • Home town cha cha cha - i've only watched a couple of episodes but its cute. Not my fave yet but still nice. It's a bit too focused on the romance.
  • Vincenzo - DNF cuz it was pretty boring to me
  • Splash Splash love - DNF bcuz it was way too cringe
  • Hotel del luna - I'm trying to watch it but im not sure how to feel about the characters. Not very engaging so far.
  • Perfect Marriage revenge - Started it but it was too soapy and cringe for me

Edited to fix typos and to add that I'm currently watching "My royal nemesis" and I'm surprisingly enjoying the romance a lot! A good Smitten ML has my heart. Cha Se-gye the man you are <3

Thank you in advance to anyone who responds!!
