James's performance became as bad as the Irate Gamer

There are episodes that are painful to watch; I miss the ones where the nerd was sarcastic and delivered his insults in a more understated way. Now, it’s all shouting and over the top, exaggerated facial expressions, which is strange considering that James is an excellent actor. In his Monster Madness reviews, he often criticized the acting in horror movies, yet here he’s leaning heavily into that very style himself. It feels like he’s underestimating his longtime audience; maybe he’s trying to stay relevant to kids today who need something flashy to grab their attention, but the result is just bad. Sorry, but that’s how I feel. I love AVGN and Cinemassacre in general. In fact, I watch the “miscellaneous” videos James releases to talk about movies or other topics more often than the new episodes.

The luck factor is becoming tedious and outdated.

Honestly, one of the most tiresome aspects of the game hasn't been improved. Sure, they added spirit dust to upgrade your weapons, but the process still requires dust and feels like a chore; it’s no fun farming spirits only to rely on luck during extraction, hoping for a measly 1,200 spirit dust. Plus, having mythical characters to defeat mid-match that drop the best weapon in the game feels incredibly unfair. People often criticize battle royale games for their "surprise factor," but here, that mechanic is starting to feel really stale.

The mechanic of escaping with the bus is the worst.

It’s ridiculous; it doesn’t matter how well you’re playingthe match can be won by the camper who gets there first, sets up turrets everywhere, and then you’re screwed. It’s stupid. I know it doesn’t happen every game and I’m not sure how random it is, but I hate it; it’s unfair and absurd.
