Help: slip dress not on bias?
Hi lovely people,
I recently bought some japanese kimono silk, and want to use it to make a simple slip dress with spaghetti straps. However the fabric is only about 40cm wide, so it is complicated to cut the fabric on the bias (as is the norm for most slip dress patterns I can find). I am planning on making the dress out of three panels, with a center-front seam and two side-back seams.
Has anyone here got experience with making a slip dress that is cut on the straight grain? Or is that just a Terrible idea..? 😅
Any other tips are welcome too!
