Installation best practices/ am I messing something up?
The problem of having big drives is having little bad habits become a larger problem. I have just repeatedly kept reinstalling overtop the old installs Futurama style.
I figure this has got to cause some kind of mess down the line or something, on top of being bad drive hygiene.
Question 1: Is removing all other installs but the current extant release going to cause me some kind of headache? Do I need to do it anyway and it is all my dumba$$ fault?
I hate when that happens.
Question 2: What is update best practices if not the ridiculous thing I have been doing?
Question 3: I have been looking at this one fork of OpenMW that claims to use occluding not implemented in the main fork to improve performance that my beloved workhorse of a toaster could very definitely use, but I would be a liar and a fatmouth if I said I understood the instructions fully.
I do not compile code, generally speaking. Historically this has worked out for the better for everyone involved.

Can anyone help with that?
For any and all answers, TIA.
