Hypothetical: Would you as a male be willing to undergo a full-term pregnancy if it was the only way to save an infant from abortion?
Please keep in mind that this scenario is not meant to be realistic in any way, it's just for promoting discussion and I'm genuinely curious with what others have to say.
Let's say in a hypothetical future both the transfer of unwanted fetuses to an alternative womb becomes safe and consistently viable AND it becomes possible to clone a uterus have it transferred into a male with it being maintained through regular hormonal therapy (no external change to the man's anatomy, an embryo would need to be implemented into the womb surgically where it could gestate for 9 months and it can only be born through C-section). Also, let's say that fully artificial wombs are not an option in this future and fetuses still need to be gestate for 9 months in the womb of a human. Now obviously it makes much more sense for willing women to undergo these transfers in order to save them from abortion, but let's say that there is a shortage of women willing to carry these pregnancies to full term compared to the number of unwanting mothers who wish to end their pregnancy one way or another. Would you as a Pro-life man be willing to volunteer to undergo the uterus transfer, an embryo implantation, and full term pregnancy if the only alternative were the biological mother seeking out an abortion? For convenience let's also say that the male genitalia/sex drive or any other physical aspect such as strength are not impacted by the increase of estrogen required to sustain the womb and it can be removed at any time with no lasting effects after birth other than scarring, but the male surrogate would still go through the other ales of pregnancy such as any physical pain, weight gain, morning sickness, mood swings, and even the potential for miscarriage and stillbirth that expecting women experience. Note that this is not asking you to adopt and raise the child as your own, just to bear the burden of pregnancy for 9 months before giving birth through C-section.
Alternatively, let's say apply the same question to a scenario where both abortion and the creation of new zygotes through IVF are banned completely, but existing frozen embryos are able to be transferred into surrogates until the total supply runs out to give them a chance at life rather than disposal. Would you volunteer to gestate one of these embryos as an alternative to them being disposed of? In addition, would you be willing to carry multiple pregnancies over the course of several years and/or be implanted with multiple embryos at once in order to help reduce the number of frozen embryos if the alternative is that they are less likely to be viable as the years pass? I suppose this second scenario applies to female surrogates as well so feel free to respond to this part.
Personally as a straight Christian man with no transgender tendencies, I would be more than willing undergo a uterus transplant if no female surrogate was available and it was the only path to saving an infant’s life, and depending on how experience went I could be willing to undergo as many back-to-back pregnancies with more than one embryo implanted as my body could handle in scenario 2. All human life has inherent value and if no woman was able to bring these infants into the world I would feel that if I refused their deaths would be just as much on my hands as their biological mother. That being said, I'm not here to cast judgment at men who are repulsed by the idea or have any counter arguments to anything I said, but I am very curious to what you think and why?
