I am playing this "wonderful" game since beginning of this year and recently decided to give the tank role a shot.
I have mainly played mmorpgs before and only played a bit of fps on the side, this is my first ever shooter I am actually focussing on.
And as I am also >40 already, you can guess how much I am struggling.... It was okay'ish so far on dps and support, support being the easiest, but tank is something I both enjoy as well as struggle the most so far.
My biggest issues are kind of deciding when to pick which hero (like map-wise as well as to not get outpicked by my opponent) and deciding when to push and when not. Reading the flow of the battle is easy as support, easier as dps but as tank, being the one at the front, its not. Especially on those payload maps when I am the only one around the payload, I struggle with that a lot.
So .... how do you do it? What advice helped you the most getting better at tanking?
Are there any specific streamers that main tank? My most favored heroes are Reinhardt, Domina/Sigma, Doomfist (in that order), Doomist is the one I'd especially like help getting into with. It kinda works due to Doom being super disruptive in my rank area (around high silver/low gold) but I die quite a lot.
