Hey folks,

We will be bringing down the servers on August 7th at 7:00am CT / 12:00pm UTC to deploy Game Update 7.9.1a. We are expecting an estimated downtime of about two hours. There are two fixes planned for this patch:

• Cybernetic accessories will no longer hide hoods.
• The PAL-IV Prosthetic Hands can now be unlocked in Collections.

They'll be posted on to the patch note page tomorrow once the patch is live, stay tuned to this thread and social media for any additional updates. Thanks all.

As a reminder for the Twitch Drops, tomorrow morning the Ruhnuk Poster Decoration Drop will be taken down, but it will be brought back alongside the Vectron Colette EM4 Mount Drop shortly after. Both will be obtainable for 28 days following 7.9.1 launch.

Yesterday EA made a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, reporting that they've received all necessary regulatory approvals and expect to close the deal to make EA private on August 4, 2026.

I expect to see more effort from EA to monetize their games. I think we've already seen the start of that increased effort in EA's College Football 27, which added paid progression for Road to Glory and Online Dynasty only to remove it after significant player protest.

The following bug fixes will be contained in this patch:

• Cinematics
  • Elements of the skybox will no longer be missing in the final cinematic in certain situations.

   

• PvP 
  • The PvP Season 10 Knightly Flairs are now Bind on Legacy.

   

• Items
  • [Tundra Enforcer Greaves] The character’s feet are now visible when the Tundra Enforcer Greaves are equipped with specific boots.

   

• Operations
  • [Gods From the Machine] Players are now able to interact with the Godkin Command Center bridge to progress through the Operation.

   

• UI
  • The Dromund Kaas maps are now displaying areas correctly and no longer using placeholder assets.

I periodically check for news to see if the "Consortium's" acquisition of EA has completed yet. It was announced as expecting to close in "Q1 FY27" which is April-June of 2026. We're two-thirds of the way thru EA's Q1 of fiscal year 2027 and no announcement of the deal's close. At this point, due to what's going on in the Persian Gulf for the past 3 months, I would not be surprised if this deal doesn't get closed by the end of June. Also not sure if the Consortium has obtained all the necessary regulatory approvals to acquire EA.

Hi everyone, 

EA is working to comply with the Digital ECA Law which will effectively update features and services in EA titles for players in Brazil. This does include SWTOR. 

What to expect 

On May 28th, a new age verification workflow will be introduced for players who are located in Brazil. If a player in this region has not yet verified their age, they will be prompted to login to their account page on the SWTOR website to go through a verification process to verify their age. 

Players in this region who do not meet the age requirements will not be able to play the game nor will they be able to make purchases through the website.

Important note for Steam players

If you are a player located in Brazil that uses the Steam launcher and you see an error message, you will need to log into your SWTOR account page on the website to complete the age verification process. 

The Steam launcher does not display a message that specifically indicates age verification is needed upon login. We are working on updating this, however it is a feature that does not currently exist. We will communicate further when it is ready to be deployed.

Hello everyone,

As noted above, we have been doing some testing for security updates for the PC and Mac launchers. We have successfully rolled out the update for the PC launcher today and will be scheduling a different day/time for the next Mac launcher update to go out.

If you use the PC launcher, you will notice that the launcher will automatically download the update once you open the game. You will not need to do anything else.

Roll out impact for the Mac Launcher

Now this is where timing is important on the player's side. Players with a currently up to date Mac launcher will be able to get the second update without issue when it is released. However, if you are a player whose Mac launcher is not currently up to date, when the next update goes live your launcher WILL NOT be able to auto update, you will need to download the Mac Beta Game Installer from the front page on the SWTOR website and run it in order to successfully update your Mac Launcher.

We have done internal testing to see how this could be mitigated, however, the updates cannot be stacked on top of one another nor can we force an automatic repair. This is the most efficient way we can release this update.

We’ll be posting reminders on the above, so if you or your friends haven’t logged on in a hot minute, you’ll want to get the first update now to avoid hitting an obstacle when the next update drops.

If you are a Mac user, we highly encourage you to log in at least once this week to get your launcher up to date.

Once we have a date set for the Mac launcher update, we will let you all know!
