Hey everyone, I need some advice because I’m honestly confused and a little frustrated.

I lived at an apartment in Nevada and my lease technically goes until May 9. I gave them notice that I was moving out and I was fully out of the unit by May 1.

Now they’re charging me for 9 days of rent in May plus utility billbacks (water, sewer, trash, etc.), and my balance is almost $700.

I feel like this isn’t right since:

I gave them notice

I moved out on time (by May 1)

I’m not even living there during those extra days

They’re basically saying I still owe through the 9th, but I was under the impression that my notice covered me.

Has anyone dealt with something like this in Nevada?

Can they legally charge me even if I moved out early?

Does the 30-day notice thing override my move-out date?

Is it worth disputing or am I stuck paying this?

Any advice on how to fight this (or what to say to them) would really help. I just don’t want to pay for days I wasn’t even there.

Thanks in advance 🙏
