Adam Wilson's Ex-Wife Speaks Out Amid Legal Pursuits Against Him, Posts Video Showing Him Kicking Child

Adam Wilson's Ex-Wife Speaks Out Amid Legal Pursuits Against Him, Posts Video Showing Him Kicking Child

Elise Greco the ex wife of Adam Wilson has written officials working in Lyon County District Attorney’s Office demanding an explanation for why perjury charges sought against him have been declined, with a video showing him kicking their older son and punching their younger one now available for viewing on her Instagram u/thatsassyitaliangirl.

We previously reported about how a felony child abuse charge against Wilson, the current Storey County Director of Emergency Management, related to what happened on April 3rd with his children and shown in the video, was dropped.

The video was also shown in custody court earlier this month.

It clearly shows a man violently kicking one older boy in an upper part of his leg and then punching and possible kicking another as they prepare to go to school with their backpacks on.  The video shows the man from the back near the home's entrance door.

The two boys, identified as being 13 and 10, are then seen on a video from outside the home grimacing and holding body parts in discomfort followed by a man who hurries to a dark blue vehicle with a younger girl also getting in.

The older boy is reported to have then talked about the incident to law enforcement and to his principal at Virginia City Middle School, before he was transported to the hospital.

“I want a specific explanation—not a generic statement about prosecutorial discretion. What element of the perjury statute did you determine could not be established? Did you personally review the video and the affidavit side-by-side? If so, how do you reconcile the sworn statement with what is shown on the recording?” the ex-wife asked in her email on Monday.

The document in question in the Third Judicial District Court is an “opposition to modify conditions of decree of divorce" with Adam Wilson's response.

It says “father spanked both boys as a form of discipline and to stop their behavior,” while the video shows kicking and not spanking.

It then states that the oldest child “made a false allegation against Father claiming that Father kicked him in the leg.”  That is not a false allegation as the video obtained through a search warrant clearly shows the abrupt kick.

“The police were called and a detective interviewed Father and arrested him after Father refused to tell the officer that (the older son) was a liar,” it then indicates.

“Father attempted to explain to the officer that there is a difference in calling (the older son) a liar vs a child who has lied. This explanation went to deaf ears and Father was arrested,” it also notes, repeatedly blaming the child, and not admitting to the kicking shown in the video.

We contacted officials from the Lyon County District Attorney’s Office but they have yet to respond.  Adam Wilson ignored a previous email we sent to him about this matter, as did UNR, for which he’s believed to still be a reserve sergeant.

Wilson was previously in the news in 2017 while working as a UNR police officer for saying he could shoot a Black graduate student and former UNR football player Kevin McReynolds during a contentious traffic stop right by the university.

At that time, Wilson was put on administrative leave.

“I was reminded of the order in which my community sees me by Officer Adam Wilson who at a routine traffic stop laughingly told me “I’m just going to shoot him if this goes sideways because f*** that,” McReynolds wrote about that incident.

Wilson’s LinkedIn indicates he became Director of Emergency Management for Storey County in 2023, after ending his full time employment with the University Police Department in July 2023.

Another one bites the dust...

In my last post, I speculated if these were installed improperly.

Update: I posted a video examining the collapsed pole, comparing it to another even BIGGER pole that is going to collapse eventually a block away.

Turns out improper installation might be the cause after all.

Days after reporting this through Reno Direct and Public Safety Dispatch, nothing was done to fix it, and it collapsed right into the sidewalk. I think I know why this is happening, too.

This morning, I looked through my window to see how many people were on the street, and I spotted a DRP Ambassador taking photos of this downed Flock camera.

I went down to inspect it. Took pics and video (which I'll be uploading shortly).

I pulled out the aluminum 8" sleeve. They didn't use a sleeve with a metal flange. It relies entirely on the bolts and the rubber gasket to stay in place. It's a smooth internal sleeve that can slip down entirely into the shaft, unable to be recovered.

It turns out once the bolts are removed, the sleeve slowly slides down into the shaft until there's nothing for the top portion to grip onto. So at first, the pole will tilt over, then once enough sleeve has slid through, the 30-50 lb. upper half will collapse.

So then after studying this one, I walked over to the one installed on Virginia Street in front of the old post office, and I observed that the bolts are coming loose. One is entirely missing.

The bolts types being used aren't consistent, either. Some are hex, and some are tamper-proof.

It's not tampering. It's oscillation.

I realized, with all the wind we've been having, that is the likely cause.

When wind hits the solar panel up top, it catches like a wing. It causes oscillation. Oscillation is probably causing the bolts to come loose, and once all bolts are missing, the sleeve slowly slides down into the shaft, held onto by nothing but the rubber gasket. It becomes a ticking time bomb. The sleeve slowly slides down, and once there is nothing for the upper portion of the pole to cling onto, the upper pole collapses onto the ground, right into pedestrian or automobile traffic, parking lanes, bike lanes, etc.

Built poorly, improperly, and are all public safety hazards.

How many of these are installed around the Reno/Sparks metropolitan area? They all need to be retrofitted or removed entirely for public safety. It's a liability for the city.

Is Flock installing these cameras properly?

... or are these being tampered with?

The same thing I observed here on u/thisisreno's thread, I am observing as we speak on Island and Sierra Street. The bolts are missing, the pole is rotated 90 degrees from its usual orientation (the camera usually points south at people's back license plates), the solar panel is facing to the west rather than at the sun to the south, and it is tilting precariously over the pedestrian area.

So either these are not being installed properly, or they're being tampered with.

I'm all for taking these things down, but not at the cost of endangering pedestrians on the sidewalk. When a big gust of wind comes by, it will collapse just like the one on Arlington, but in this case, directly into the path of people walking. It can seriously injure someone.

But with all this weather going on, could it be the wind? Are they installing these properly with the bolts in place? Are these bolts even used when installing? Any other camera poles around town that anyone can observe to see if these bolts are in place?

SAVE THE PUBLIC WALKWAY

https://c.org/4MTMbKccyV

I've made a petition on Change.org to demand the Reno City Council to take legal action and save our Truckee Riverwalk walkway and bike path along the Truckee River between AT&T and Lake Street.

The Riverwalk Plan is decaying.

There is a staircase that needs to be gone. The plan was to remove it.

In 1995, the City formed a strategy to improve the riverwalk, aided by Public Workshops. This path was to be eventually widened and improved, and the TRFMA Lake Street Bridge Replacement will raise the bridge to clear room for flood water to pass underneath. When that happens, no more staircase. ADA accessibility!

It needs to be improved, not gated and detoured.

Public Works' current plan is to post detour signs around the block and direct bicycles and pedestrian traffic around 1st Street.

With the additional detour and encroachment at the National Automobile Foundation, this results in a 4-block long detour to reach the Truckee River Path and Tahoe-Pyramid Trail! It is not "one block" like public works is claiming.

Easement by Prescription

But there is 54 years of legal evidence proving it belongs to the public, which a judge would likely find in favor of the Public and order the fence be removed.

Nevada Law (NRS.11.165), in 2017, the owner had 5 years to post signs saying the walkway was used with permission and was subject to control. He never did. In 2022, I took photographs that prove this. The walkway became a public easement "by prescription" meaning permanent.

Commercial Activation Lost

The current tenant, Guadalajara Grill, wants to open their patio for patrons to dine on the riverwalk. How can anyone enjoy this space with two ugly fences and no traffic on the river corridor?

It's against code!

This fence, and the locked gates on AT&T's property are against code. RMC 18.04.1004(c)(4)a states that there must be a minimum of 12' feet room to allow passage on the esplanade between Arlington and Lake. And, according to Public Works' own Design Manual, all bike paths (which this is) shall be designed in accordance with AASHTO, which this is, and must remain 14' feet wide.

All the details are on the petition page.

On the petition page I go into more detail, and I link to documents supporting my claims.

The City Council needs to place this as an agenda item and vote to instruct the City Attorney's Office to pursue legal action, or else the AT&T public easement contract terminates!

We need to IMPROVE our infrastructure, not let it go!

Light it! Patrol it! Beautify it! Don't abandon it! Demand the City Council take action!

Please sign the petition and rally support for removing the fence, and spread the word.

Thank you.

Critical Injuries, a Bear’s Death, a Woman’s Breakdown, a Lack of Personnel and Many Sobering Moments from the Fires Which Caused Chaos Throughout Our Region this Past Week

Friends of America Matters Media founder Eddie Floyd and his wife Shari are taking to social media to confirm they were the couple who suffered serious injuries while evacuating their ranch on August 12th and then flown to the UC Davis Burn Center for further treatment.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office had not named the couple in its media statement on the 13th.

The couple operated a horse sanctuary at their ranch near Hallelujah Junction, with other animals all said to have survived.

That was not the case for Gracie a black bear from the Animal Ark who had turned 20 this year but passed away after a rescue operation evacuating animals from that wildlife sanctuary on Deerlodge Road.

“Despite all efforts made by our veterinary and animal care teams, the totality of the recent situation proved to be too much for Gracie’s system,” a statement indicated.

«Moving large, potentially dangerous wildlife is no small task. To protect both the animals and the people handling them, the animals were temporarily immobilized before being carefully transported,” a previous statement indicated.

All three fires, the Bug, Stallion and the one from Freds Mountain, which eventually merged into the Bug, are believed to have been of human origin.

Christine Mitchell faces an arraignment August 17th after she allegedly admitted to starting fires in the area of Freds Mountain Road, with a relative telling us she was having addiction issues and a severe breakdown after recently losing her pets. “No one in the family expected this from her but in a sad way no one was shocked either,” she wrote to Our Town Reno.

Thousands of families were evacuated, kids from eight schools haven’t had their first day of school yet, power was out for long stretches for many and nine homes were reported destroyed.

An official BLM statement from yesterday indicated that “across the West, high fire activity continues to strain national resources, resulting in a limited number of personnel available to manage the vast and challenging geographic footprints of the Bug and Stallion Fires. Despite these constraints, crews are working actively to suppress the Bug and the Stallion Fires,” with frustrated locals sending us messages about concerns it was taking so long for these fires to finally start being contained.

A wider Watch Duty fire map shows the west engulfed in flames with the fire season far from over.

“Yesterday, 126 new fires were reported nationwide, including 9 new large fires,” the National Interagency Fire Center reports at the US level.

“Firefighters are currently working to contain 93 uncontained large fires, with 29,612 personnel assigned to incidents nationwide. So far in 2026, firefighters have responded to over 48,000 wildfires that have burned more than 6.5 million acres across the United States.”

The National Preparedness Level is at five which is the highest, which it has been since mid July, which means resources have been fully deployed for weeks.

Almost all fires are suppressed before they reach 100 acres, but for those that become infernos discussions will have to be had in the near future to see if given current climate and sprawl conditions, we will need to expand fire workforces and budgets to help ourselves from the mess we keep creating given our making it much worse for ourselves lifestyle and development habits.

Relative of Woman Accused of Starting Fred Mountain Fires Speaks Out

The woman on the left of this photo is Christine Mitchell, her niece Sammi Jones writes Our Town Reno today.

The 47-year-old was arrested earlier this week near the 1300 block of Freds Mountain Road, on an accusation of intentionally starting multiple fires in the area, resulting in what became known as the Freds Mountain Fire, which then joined with the massive Bug Fire.

Jones says Mitchell recently struggled with addiction issues. “No one in the family expected this from her but in a sad way no one was shocked either,” she writes.

She had two dogs she says but ended up in the hospital a few weeks ago, and then seemingly lost her pets, and at that “moment she took it out on the rest of the world,” she alleges.

Jones is in the picture in the banner of Mitchell’s Facebook profile page and said she felt she needed to speak out, and wanting to help others as well.

“My husband has carpenter experience, landscaping, and mechanic experience and we’d be happy to help anyone who lost their house animal shelters in fencing things along those lines,” she writes saying people can contact her at u/lauriesammi on Instagram.

“As fire personnel responded to the Freds Mountain Fire shortly after it began, Mitchell flagged down responding crews and told them she had intentionally started the fire. Fire personnel then transferred Mitchell into the custody of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office,” a Washoe County statement indicated.
“Through the investigation, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives developed probable cause to arrest Mitchell on the following charges: possession of a Controlled Substance (Less than 14 grams) and Arson, 3rd degree.

Reno City Clerk Removed With Cause

Leaving it to the end of the City Council meeting today, item H2 to remove City Clerk Mikki Huntsman for office with cause passed 6-1 with only Naomi Duerr in opposition.

There had been confusion previously as Duerr asked for Item H1 which included a a one-time cash payment equal to six months salary or $117,422.76 to be discussed in September but that was voted down.

In calling for the H2 vote, Meghan Ebert said the council was not agendized to discuss Huntsman’s character or the allegations.

Huntsman had been on paid leave since June, while Mayor Hillary Schieve said at a previous meeting she wanted an investigation to be concluded before the Council voted on her fate, but those findings were not shared.

“The City Clerk functions as the Clerk of the Council and maintains all official records of the City, pursuant to the Reno City Charter, Section 3.040. This includes providing for all public notifications, a comprehensive legislative tracking system for council action and minutes, as well as the indexing of all documents for archiving and retrieval,” the City of Reno website indicates.

“The City Clerk also serves as the Secretary to the Redevelopment Agency and performs similar functions. The City Clerk is appointed by and reports directly to the City Council.”

Has any other local media been covering the chaos at the Cordillera Film Festival and if not why not?

The Cordillera International Film Festival website remains unchanged even after an email signed by six departing members of its Board of Directors indicated they had voted to cancel the 2026 festival scheduled in October.

The six identified former members, including President Bret Blackhart, remain listed on the website’s board page even though the email said they were resigning as of their letter August 10th.

The five others who signed are Jamie Asmis, Cheryl Lewis, Marcia Lu, Joanna O’Neal and Ted Kelly.

The email alleges they made repeated requests to Emily Skyle-Golden for financial records and documentation for an investigation into allegations of possible financial improprieties but that their efforts “were repeatedly rebuffed, and the Board was ultimately unable to complete its investigation to its satisfaction.”

They made up six of the eight positions on the Corporate Board, along with Skyle-Golden and Dennis Weisgerber.

It says a meeting was convened on August 7th, but Skyle-Golden did not appear then. They said they then voted to remove her as Executive Director and from the festival itself, but that since then they wrote she allegedly attempted to add six new members to the board.

Skyle-Golden’s husband is already on the board listed as Co-Founder, while Skyle-Golden is still listed as founder and executive director. There is another Asmis on the board and another Blackhart, while yet another Blackhart is listed as Social Media Director.

We contacted the film festival’s counsel to find out more about all this but have yet to hear back.

Has any other local media been covering this and if not why not?

Fired for being flashed in Sun Valley?

Meanwhile at the Curaleaf in Sun Valley, a former employee who sent this video alleges she was fired with others after complaining about this repeat offending customer who was never banned from store. "I’m sharing this video because I no longer feel like my voice has been heard... After I raised concerns with HR, I experienced what I believe was retaliation. Instead of feeling supported, I felt like my concerns were dismissed. After extreme gaslighting and retaliation, I no longer felt safe working for the company.... Employees deserve to feel safe at work and to be able to report serious incidents without fearing retaliation. Speaking up about what happens at work should never cost someone their job.“

Former Washoe County employee Justin Roper has been indicted for embezzling over $55,000 in federal grant funding

A former Washoe County employee Justin Roper who has been indicted for embezzling over $55,000 in federal grant funding was scheduled in court today.

“According to allegations contained in the indictment, the Department of Alternative Sentencing received approximately $1.3 million in grant funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, a component of the Justice Department. As alleged, from November 2024 to December 2024, Justin Roper embezzled $55,593.52 of federal grant funds,” a statement from the District of Nevada US Attorney’s Office indicated.

“Roper is charged with one count of federal program theft. If convicted at trial, Roper faces the maximum statutory penalty of up to 10 years in prison.”

Our Town Reno reported in March 2025 that Roper had then resigned as Chief at the Washoe County Department of Alternative Sentencing, after previously being on unpaid leave due to the investigation.

Roper is also the business owner of the for profit Las Vegas based Sober Testing Services, which was opened in 2021 soon after he had started in his county leadership job, drawing repeated concern from Commissioner Mike Clark. His LinkedIn still marks himself as owner of Sober Testing Services.

The offices of the Department of Alternative Sentencing received millions in state and federal grants to provide drug and alcohol testing services. Its services were shifted to other existing county departments in October 2025 and then shut down completely in January. It previously managed misdemeanor probation, pretrial defendant supervision, and drug testing as a jail alternative.

“In December 2025, the Board of County Commissioners voted to dissolve the Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) and move its essential programs into other departments,” a county newsletter indicated.

Charge Reported Dropped Against Storey County Top Official, While He Faces More Accusations Related to his Children and Former Wife

A person who wanted to remain unnamed, with knowledge of several legal proceedings involving Dayton resident Adam Wilson, the current Storey County Director of Emergency Management, is expressing outrage a previous charge against him filed on April 3rd of felony child abuse was then reported to be dropped.

A video from earlier in the day on April 3rd from his home seized through a search warrant, shown to Our Town Reno and used in custody court shows a man violently kicking one boy and then punching and possibly kicking another as they prepare to go to school with their backpacks on.  The video shows the man from the back.

The Division of Child and Family Services was then notified, all three children were reported placed in the mother’s care under a present danger plan, and then the arrest took place.

This video was shown during a recent August 4th family custody hearing for the Wilsons, with the mother now trying to get sole legal custody of their three children.

Towards the end of those proceedings, Judge John Schlegalmich said there should be “no corporal punishment” going forward.

Bail was set at $75,000 after the early April arrest, with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office saying it “takes all reports of child abuse seriously and remains committed to aggressively investigating these cases and holding offenders accountable.”

Our source says Wilson paid bond several days after his arrest and that the charge was dismissed in May.

We contacted the Lyon County District Attorney’s Office for confirmation as well as Wilson by email over the weekend for comments but have yet to receive a response from either.

Wilson’s position requires “ongoing professional collaboration with surrounding public safety agencies throughout the Quad County region, leading me to question whether an independent investigative agency should have been considered,” the person wrote Our Town Reno.

The person tells us the Wilsons have been divorced since last year.

The person also tells Our Town Reno the mother is the primary parent until mid August after which custody may go back to fifty fifty for the two younger children, while Wilson no longer has “any physical custody” of their oldest child according to their account.

There are also ongoing disputes over child support payments and previous allegations related to Wilson’s conduct toward the mother and children.

The person says there are disturbing audio recordings and official interviews of the children as well, among a list of materials which should be considered they said so that criminal proceedings resume against Wilson.

There was also a previous Temporary Protection Order which the person says was dissolved in June with a mutual no contact order put in place.

The person says an initial report of alleged abuse against Wilson was filed with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office this past Thanksgiving, and that it was forwarded to the Nevada Department of Investigation.

“This case was deconflicted by the Lyon County Sheriffs Office not the Lyon County District Attorneys Office,” a detective from the Investigative Division at Nevada State Police Jordan Heather wrote the mother in an email forwarded to us when she had raised concerns of wanting a fair and impartial review given Wilson’s local leadership position.

“Just because the Sheriffs Office believed they had a conflict does not mean there is a conflict at the District Attorneys Office and there is no evidence to suggest this matter can’t be handled fair and impartially by the Lyon County District Attorneys Office. Additionally, it would be there (sic) responsibility, if there was a conflict, to deconflict it after receiving my report. I don’t get to choose where to send it.

Since the allegations occurred in Lyon County, I am required to submit it to the Lyon County District Attorneys Office for review as it is their office that has jurisdiction over this matter,” the message from Heather indicated.

Our source says charges of perjury have also been submitted to the Lyon County District Attorney as of July 8th related to an affidavit signed by Wilson.

The person says the Division of Child and Family Services previously got involved in late February after a week the children spent with their dad with allegations of injuries to the children caused by Wilson’s conduct on the Friday evening. The person said that investigation was closed toward the end of March.

The person tells us he is still a Reserve Sergeant with UNRPD. We contacted UNR offices but have yet to receive a confirmation of that or any kind of statement from them either.
