Breaking in a Multistrada RS
A couple of days ago I came home with a new 2025 Multistrada V4 RS. Holy crow, this bike is fun to ride. I did almost 300 miles up in the Cascades today.
A few observations, for anyone interested:
- The Desmo pulls like holy Jesu above 10,000 RPM.
- It took me about 150 miles to make friends with the dry clutch. It straight up launches you.
- If you ride hair-on-fire up the mountain (not that I do), you will burn through gas. I saw a comment the other day saying that Ducati owners don't care about fuel economy. I feel this is wrong. It's just maybe not like a super high priority.
- The RS has a 17-in front wheel, and it loves to tip in.
- With the dry clutch and the V4 and the Akrapovič, the bike sounds like a lunatic operating a broken pavement saw. But like, in a really good way.
Thanks to J and team at my local Ducati dealer for making this work out. What a bike...
