Toe Nail Removed
So on Saturday, 3 days ago, I had removed my toenail myself. I was going to go to a doctor for it, but the nail was already half off. It was a painful experience to say the least and if I need to get one removed I will be going to the doctors next time lol. I got a nail fungus from a nail salon and have been trying my best to take care of them since, but this one got progressively worse. I used hydrogen peroxide the first few days to clean it, and this morning I switched to warm water and sensitive non-scented soap and will continue with that moving forward along with epsom salt soaks. I’ve also been keeping the end of my bed up while I sleep and will use an ice pack as needed. I think it’s healing pretty well, but the skin around my toe and the minimal sloughing is making me think that it’s being wrapped for too long or there’s too much ointment? And I’m still having pains that shoot through the toe. I think I’m overthinking things because I did it rather than a professional, but I want to make sure that it looks normal and see if I should be letting it air out more. I have to work so it’s making it difficult for me to be able to let it air out more. Also, the sloughing in the sides/corners is making making me want to remove it, but I think I should leave it? Could I get some advice please? Thank you!
