Am I naïve for believing I don’t need a lawyer and assuming my LTD acceptance will pay out till I’m 62?

51 y/o F was medically retired from the fire service after a failed shoulder surgery (times 2), ulnar entrapment, and hip impingement that I’ve been told needs a total replacement. I still have shoulder instability, but surgeons are reluctant to try a third time. Also was told I have CRPS in my foot/ankle after reconstruction surgery. I was given a letter that says I’m considered disabled under ANY occupation…do I even need a lawyer at this point? What if I do all the steps to get SSDI but am told no? Do I have to appeal - then what? I thought all SSDI monies offset the amount the LTD company pays. I’m so lost -and appreciate any advice.
BTW - the shoulder injury happened on my way home from work-not on the job, yet I had to go back to work the next day because there were no people available for overtime.

Was told it’s not stitches…so what the hell is it?

Ok - slight back story. I posted about a month ago asking for advice because I thought I felt stitches while applying vaginal estrogen cream from my hysterectomy in 2024. Had an appointment with the surgeon today and he said there are no stitches - BUT I FEEL SOMETHING! I feel overly discouraged and stupid. I know there were no foreign bodies present before my regular GYN took the second stitch out. So for all you ladies that had a sacralcolcopexy for pelvic organ prolapse: have you ever felt the mesh coming through the vagina? What did it feel like? If you had a cystocele, did your bladder ever “cover up” the mesh placement? I feel like I’m losing my mind…

Am I freaking out for no reason?

Random question, pls…I had a complete radical hysterectomy (removal of cervix as well) in January 2025. At my 8 week appointment I had to have a stitch removed that was poking me and causing trauma. Completely healed with no significant issues until 2 months ago when my husband “found” another stitch. Just had that one removed and was told “no sex for a week”, but to use vag estrogen to help heal. Day 2 of applying topical cream and now can feel the whole row of stitches along my cuff. Do I go back a third time and demand to know what’s up with my cuff or is this not that big of a deal? I have random “pulling” type pain, but nothing significant. I did put in a call to my gym’s office but they haven’t called me back.
What would you all do?
