AIW for trying to argue for shooting my classmates with my water gun?

So in school today, we had lost power around 9 AM. Today (as of writing this) it is 90° F outside and the temperatures were quickly rising.

We are playing a game in my senior class called Splashin/Senior Assassin and we carry water guns around our person so we can get our targets. I had filled mines up before I got to school, hoping I could get my target. However, that quickly shifted because we were trapped in a building with no power, no A/C, and no water. My school had 5 gallon Gatorade barrels sitting out that were either a. empty or b. had tiny little shot-sized cups. Majority of the people did not know they were out.

So fast forward a little bit, we get dismissed early. However, not all of the buses arrived and we are standing for about 25-30 minutes outside waiting for every bus to arrive. It is scorching outside and people are getting migraines because most people have not had the opportunity to hydrate and get out of an 85° building for nearly 4 hours, just to get into even more heat. There were kids being sent down to the nurse’s office (myself included) because it was that hot.

I had a water gun on me. It was a battery powered one. One of my buddies told me to shoot him with it because realistically, who would not do that on a hot day? This quickly made people rally around me, in which I aimed the gun upwards and shot water into e sky. It felt very nice (according to 20 people) because we were extremely hot. A teacher then sees this, sprinting over to me where she snatches it out of my hand and tells me I’m being written up. I tried arguing that it is a 90° day where we’ve had no water, air conditioning, food or anything all day because the school blew up their own grid. I said “Would you rather me shoot people who asked me to shoot them with a watergun on a 90° day, or would you rather have kids drop from heatstroke?”

She told me, and I quote, that this will be a “disciplinary incident” and I immediately called my mom who took my side. My school kept us in a dangerous situation and got mad at us for trying to make the best of it and keep each other safe. I genuinely need to know if I’m in the wrong for trying to argue this because my parents aren’t happy with the school now and I’m definitely not happy.
